Allied Waste Republic Services Charged $41.12 fee that they never disclosed on a $45 dresser pickup. Circle Pines, Minnesota
They didn't even try to address my concern. They threatened sending it to a collection agency and did not even attempt to work something out. Here is my complaint.
Friday 11/18/11:
I called Allied Waste to ask what will it cost me if I ask them to pick up a 6 drawer dresser.
I was told $45.00 (of course they didn't have to tell me tax is extra).
I said I am not ready yet as I want to check other peoples prices.
Saturday 11/19/11:
I called several people that advertised on my local
Craigslist that pickup garbage, junk, furniture for a fee one-time basis - cash only. They quoted me $50, $55, and 3rd $70 since they were in Stillwater and so far away.
Monday 11/21/11:
I called Allied Waste and said I agree to pick up my dresser on my normal pickup day tomorrow Tuesday.
Tuesday 11/22/11:
Dresser picked up
Monday 12/05/11:
Received bill for nearly double what was expected. Normally it is about $42.72 and this time it
was $122.82
I only expected $42.72 for normal charges, plus $45 for dresser plus sales tax. Maybe a grand
total of around $90 or so.
Tuesday 12/06/11:
I called to complain.
Supervisor Jenifer said they don't have to mention prices for tax as that is implied. I said I am NOT complaining about the $8.70 tax, but instead I am complaining about two fees that were NEVER mentioned to me before. Fee: $17.15 and Fee: 24.97
Total fees: $42.12 on a $45.00 dresser pickup. I said I was not told about the fees. She said if I don't pay they will assign it to a collection agency.
They are trying to charge me $42.12 fees that they did not disclose to me. I agreed to a $45.00
pickup for a dresser and sales tax is implied which was only $8.70.
