Company cancels my policy for the questionnaire that I did not fill and send back to them. I have never received one. I've found out about this questionnaire only from the cancellation note.

I called my agent Thomas Esposito. He promised to try to help me to extend my insurance but had never got back to me. He claims to be too busy to call me back, but his strong suggestion was to change Insurance Company.

Why?

Allstate cancels me for the questionaire

I also have been dropped from Allstate for not filling out the questionaire who ever heard of a mandatory survey like that. I called my agent and they said once I recvd the letter there is nothing they can do about it. So I am off to find a new agent and company. I have been with Alltate for 15 years. They have my home owners policy and my life ins policy. This just ridiculous.

I'm surprised I haven't received this yet.

I have my own gripes with Allstate. I've been under my mothers auto insurance because she had to sign when I purchased my car. (I wasn't licensed at the time.)

I got into an accident earlier this year. I called to report it and the woman asked what time it happened. I had no idea, so I told her 'I think it was (so and so time)' and she said she needed the exact time. I asked her what time it was now and she got snappy with me - "Well I wouldn't know, I'm in california." Sorry, didn't know you couldn't tack four hours onto whatever time it is by you. It was the most frustrating thing to work with them that day. You'd think the company would have more compassion about accidents. I was scared when mine happened and was treated horribly.

My mothers agent is now advising her to drop me from her plan anyway.

Questionaire

I tried to get Allstate insurance with the promise of lower costs.  The quote changed when actually signing up.  In addition, They sent me a questionaire requiring that I prove that my 2001 Honda Accord has anti-lock brakes in order to get the safe car discount.

They wanted me to find the window sticker (long gone) or go to a mechanic and have them certify that it has ABS.  I told them I am a mechanic and I can assure you that it does have ABS.  Not good enough for them.

They said don't worry it is only an extra $8.00 without the discount.  I explained to them that it is impossible to get a 2001 Accord without ABS anywhere in the world. When they ran my VIN and said I would have to prove it because their data base doesn't agree.

I told them they were wrong and cancelled policy.  I have yet to see my money back.  Anyone else being hit up for extra monies due to "faulty databases" at Allstate??

I have heard through the grapevine that Allstate has been cancelling policies in New Jersey due to high number of claims and the high risk of insuring people there. I have not been able to verify it yet, but I encourage you to research this further. I will continue to research and if I come accross something I will let you know.

I Received That Questionaire

I'm sorry to see that someone else is being harassed by the "good hands" that choke you. I received one of those questionaires you are referring to. Why I got one when I did I have no clue. My Auto insurance had just renewed in March, and I received one for my renewal in September? Don't you think they would send one closer to the renewal date? It stated that is was only for the purpose of offering the best insurance coverage possible. In it, it had both my husband's and my vehicles. They wanted to know who many miles to work, if the vehicle was driven to work at all, etc. They also wanted to know your projected mileage for the year. BUT, it also said that it had to be returned within 20 days. WHY? It was 4 months until my next renewal. What was the big rush? Had I not returned it within that 20 day period, I would probably be receiving a cancellation notice too. The only conclusion we can come up with is they are looking for a way to drop us! I think it would be safe to assume that you have had a claim in the past 2 years. It's those of us that have they are trying to eliminate as their insured. They only want the ones that pay premiums, but never file a claim are the only ones they want to insure.
