My car was in an accident. My insurance company paid for the usual coverage. I also carried GAP coverage on my loan. After sending the insurance chack to Ally financial and waiting for a week to make sure it was recorded and on the books, I called to get a payoff on the final amount owed on the car. I was told 700 something. I made arrangement with a loan and made the payment to payoff the car via electronic funds. A couple of months later I started receiving letters from Ally again saying that I still owe them 102.00. When I asked for what they said that was the balance owed after receiving my insurance check, my GAP coverage check and the electronic transfer that I made to them. I asked how is that possible. When I called for a payoff I was told 757.04 and sent that in that day. We did not even take into account that the GAP coverage was in place. I should have actually received a refund when they received the check from the GAP insurance. They still are claiming that I owe them 102.00. When asked how is that because when I called for the payoff it was paid right away. I cannot believe that I am arguing with these people. I do not have 100 to pay them. Is there anything that I can do?
