Katherine, I found this information while talking to several people about the forclosure process. When your house is sold at the sheriff's sale alot of the time no one bids on it, so the mortgage company buys it back in the sale. Because the sale is not always published in a regular paper that everyone see's.That would be their realtor that came to your door and gave you the info that the mortgage had been reassigned and that the mortgage company now owns the house. I also found out that you have around 30 days +/- to vacate the property. Unfortunetly when this kind of thing happens people don't know how this process works and the Sheriff's office,(I know around here) does not give info unless you call and ask or talk with and attorney. I can't say much more in regards to my situation, but my report is on this website for anyone to read. I know this info probably will not help much but I thought I would share, I had W/M when I first purchased my house and it was not any better with them either.

AMC Mortgage Services foreclosed on my home and supposedly the auction was held on January 7, 2006. I received a letter notifying me of the auction date and that the mortgage was reassigned to Washington Mutual. A real estate agent came to my door a month after the auction and announced that my home did not sell but the mortgage company owns it now. Why would Ameriquest/AMC reassign my mortgage to Washington Mutual? Shouldn't I be receiving some type of correspondence letting me know what has happened since the auction date of January 7, 2006, and the amount needed to redeem? All of this reassigning mortgages is really confusing me. Do not ever do any business with Ameriquest or AMC and now I'm wondering about Washington Mutual also........ If anyone can provide some information or advice, I would truly appreciate it. Thanks
Robert
