Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I recently terminated my AOl account due to the fact that I had gotten a transaction on my bank account in the amount of $147.60. This all started several months ago. I signed up to AOL as a secondary ISP to my cable modem service, because from time to time it doesn't work. So, I ran to my nearest computer dealer, and grabbed a free AOL disk. I think it was something like 500 hours free.

Anyway, I installed the software, and entered all of my information. When it was time to choose what type of payment arrangement I wanted, I chose $9.95 so that I could use my AOL service with my cable service if I wanted to. Little did I know that if you didn't use it with the cable modem at that price, you are charged by the minute. I cought this, and just paid the amount, being that It was my mistake, because AOL does tell you when your logging on incorrectly.

So I call AOL's 800 number. I talk to a lady, and I tell her I would like to cancel my service, but she insisted that I keep it, and they would give me x amout of time free for the next couple of months. I finally agreed to stay with them for the remaining free time. These people don't understand what the word cancel means, or the word no.

Anyway, I call about the time that the free service is going to be over, and try once again, to cancel the service. I find out that the service was still on the $9.95 plan. Now I am a bit upset, I tell the lady to cancel my service, but yet again, they said they would wave the fee,($55) and give me x amount of time for the screw up, and switch my plan to the $12.95 plan wich is limited use plan. You can only use so many minutes, and this would give me free AOL or shall I say payed up front AOl for the next few months with was from around Oct. to Jan 30. That's where the $147.60 comes in.

They still did not change it, and I used enough AOL to accumulate that much money. Unlike the first time, I didn't just ignore the little message saying I logged in wrong, it didn't appear this time. I contact AOL again with this problem, and tell them this the same thing I have said here.

The guy I talked to said he didn't know what was said in previous conversations, and that there isn't anything he could do, so I asked for a superviser. He kinda had a cocky attitude when I said that, and said the supervisor would tell me the same thing.

Finally I got to talk to a supervisor, and I was told that there wasn't anything they could do, or will do, because of the little message that pops up when you log in wrong. It's their mistake for not changing my request, and for constantly insisting on giving me free AOL to cover up their screw ups. I have come to a dead end on getting my cash back, and if anyone knows how I can I would really like to know.
