My deepest sympathy to the consumer! The rebuttal however is just cruel, insensitive and inaccurate. HOUSEHOLD bears all of the responsibility in this case, as they were the ones collecting the money every month and should know where it is going. If this company has anything to do with ASSURANT, it is no doubt a rip-off! We lost our home and everything we own in a devastating fire, including our family pet. Though it was a total loss, this company is still making every day of our rebuilding process a living hell. They are cruel, inhuman and don't care about any consumers. I don't know how they sleep at night and hope some day their families can experience the same tragedies, with the same lack of concern and injustice!

Although I have no inside information on the details of this complaint, I would like to correct at least one factual error. Travelers Insurance is owned by Citibank, not Assurant Solurions and American Bankers Insurance. Travelers is quite a bit larger than either of those entities. This is a fairly crucial bit of information. If the complainant got that wrong I question the accuracy of the rest of the information contained in her notes. While I sympathize with her situation, I think she is attacking the wrong companies. She probably needs to take her paperwork or records to an attorney (I hate saying that) and have him research for a solution to the situation. An alternative path would be to find out in which states the respective companies are located and contact the insurance commissions in those states. Assurant has major offices in Miami and Atlanta. I think Travelers is out of Concord, Conneticutt, but can't guarantee that.
