I was in the process of getting a Home Equity Loan to remodel my house. We pulled up my credit report and found that I had derrogatory past due payments listed from American Credit Educators "ACE" from 1999. They showed I owed them $300 from 1999 because of a "credit repair kit" and credit card they sent to my house.

I do not have any record of receiving any kit nor a credit card. I contacted "ACE" to verify this information and they informed me that they had my authorization on a recorded line from 1999 to send me a "credit repair kit." I asked to listen to this tape and they said they would need to find the tape since it was five years old. I have yet to hear from them; but the person I spoke to said that if I paid $50, they would take the late payments off of my credit report.

I have paid this amount and the late payments are still listed on all three credit bureau reports. I have tried to get on-line at www.aceacct.com to look into the information further and I have not been able to access the website for over a week now. I just called in today and they said, "I guess our site is not working right now." When I told them it hasn't been working for over a week (that I am aware of), the person stated that she would look into it.

I am sick and tired of this company coming up with no proof and no solutions to the mess they have created with my credit and I would love for someone to contact me on how I can resolve this.

Thank you!

Denise

I recently went through the same thing with this company. All i had to do to have it completely removed from my credit report was to send them a letter. i sent them a letter and claimed that i never recieved there items (which i did not and i never made a payment b/c of that)and i said that i demand that they take it off of my credit report and then about a week later i recieved a letter in the mail telling me it would be removed. and a week after that i recieved another letter saying the same thing. it took about a month for them to actually report the correction to the credit bureas but they did. and it takes 30-45 days for the item to be removed. but it does work!
