American Signature Furniture delivered a bedroom set that is infested with powder post beetles. I contacted the local store, the manager Jeremy never returned my call. When I finally did get in touch with him he arranged to replace the nightstand with the obvious damage.

On my own I arranged for a licensed exterminator to come and inspect the furniture and the other pieces that came in the set. I was told that it was infested with wood destroying powder post beetles which have up to a five year incubation period. They highly recommended that the other pieces be returned as well. They stated that even though there was no evidence of damage now they are active from April through July so they could chew out of the remaining pieces next year.

I contacted the Altamonte Springs store and was told to fax the report. After over a week had passed with no response I contacted the corporate office.

Carolyn at the corporate office received the report from the pesticide company, with their email and invoice attached. Then she called back and said it wasnt on the proper letter head, then after she received that she said it needed to be on a service report form. The report clearly states "Upon inspecting the furniture that Mrs. B requested, we notice that one piece of furniture had an infestation of a wood burrowing beetle (powder post beetle). It is with recommendation from JG , and myself, to have the other furniture that was purchased with this be removed and/or replaced."

They never ask me to have it inspected by a exterminator in the first place, they have possession of one of the bug infested pieces and can inspect it themselves. I ask wasnt this covered under the warranty? She said the warranty only covers manufacturers defects. I have even purchased an extended warranty. Well if they did not properly treat the furniture and it has bugs that sounds defective to me.

They have now exposed my new home to these wood destroying insects and are refusing to come and pick up the other pieces.
