In July I borrowed $150 which was deposited in my account. A month later when it was close to the due date, I contacted Customer service to make sure my renewal was cancelled so I could just pay the remaining balance, then close the loan.

I was told they would email me the info on how to do that. I never received any information from them,(I called 3 times) and then they began to take $45 per month from my checking account. It is now December 30, and they have taken another $45 plus $50 from my account.

They have taken a total of $275 for a $150 loan. I don't know what the interest is, but doesn't this sound like enough money taken already?

I want to make sure this loan is not renewed, and I have no way of knowing this, because they have not notified me of anything.

Please, any advice?

Hi Laura I just responded kindly on this same subject regarding Ameriloan to a lady yesterday. Please view the recent posts for Ameriloan. Did you enquire with your bank to see about disputing this?? Because it saddens me to hear you had every intention on repaying this in full much sooner than Ameriloan wanted. This is a crime and an outrage, and hopefully you will never take loans out like this again. I lived in Payday Loan Grief for years and proud to have it all behind me. Generally, your bank trusts that you maintain control of your account, but at the first sign of foul play, contact your bank immediately - maybe you have already done this, because it sounds like common sense. Please don't hand your checking account to anyone unless you are absolutely sure something like this will never happen. Please let me know how this all turns out. I'd also be curious about anyone else Ameriloan has toyed with. Please speak.
