First of all, I did not know the mortgage I was quoted was an ARM. When I found out, the rep told me no problem, in two years, before the rate increased, I could "streamline" the mortgage and the closing costs would be reasonable.

However, when I called to streamline the mortgage (verbage I wouldn't know if I had not been told by their rep), my appraisal came in $10,000.00 lower then they had financed my house! How can that be?

Houses around me are going for about $20,000.00 more then the second appraisal and I have new windows, doors, roof, heater, etc. If anything, my house should be worth more.

Streamlining was out of the question and unfortunately, due to a decrease in income, I needed to throw a second mortgage into one mortgage. Seemed to me that was logical, since I'd put so much into the house. AMC's response, no can do.

Upon calling around for a different company, more then a few reps told me they used to work for AMC and their appraisals were inflated and basically told me that the company sucks. Hey, no new news to me.

So, I got one month behind on my mortgage. When I tried to make a partial payment, they wouldn't accept it. Before the second month was 30 days behind, they wouldn't take the first month I was behind, refused to take the payment! I was told that they would only accept a month and a half, no less. Even though the second month wasn't 30 days behind.

And rude, I was told that they would send someone to my house in lieu of the repeated, annoying telephone calls that start Sunday morning at 8:00 am. Once, upon a request from a sarcastic AMC rep, I told her the truth, my ex husband stopped paying child support and my company took away the overtime I did to make up for it. Her response? AMC doesn't go after ex husbands for child support.

Now, I'll have a 60 day late payment showing on my credit report, which I don't think is fair because I tried to pay them at least the one month that I was the most behind. Which they REFUSED to accept!

My house has a market value of $125,000.00. I owe AMC $100,000.00 and my second mortgage is $15,000.00. My math says no problem, AMC has contributed to my choice to file Chapter 7.

I have worked so hard to rebuild my credit, bought my house on my own, have been dedicated to raise my kids well and to provide a home and this company holds at least some responsibility for what is a financial downfall for me.

I'll keep my house, my kids will sleep in their own bedrooms every night and when it comes down to it, I'll get through this. But what is frustrating is that they will make their money off of me, why intentionally screw the middle class American? I'll work 11-12 hours a day, get to my son's baseball games late and stock up on quick foods for my teenagers to eat, since I won't be home to cook.

Some really slick people are getting richer on the vulnerability of people like me; people like us. People who just want to provide a home for our families. God forbid life throws you a curve, because AMC doesn't care.

It sucks that you have to choose between paying car insurance, filling the oil tank, paying almost $3.00 for a gallon of gas, or paying your mortgage for a month. But I won't make my daughter stop dancing competitively and I won't tell my son that I can't get him new cleats for this season of baseball.

Thanks for letting me vent and it's nice to know it's not just me.

And finally, in my opinion, Ameriquest should have to take the reference to America out of their name. "Profitquest" would be more suiting.

We all know the many lies told to us by Ameriquest reps. Most of what you said is old news. I wasn't made to feel like s**t about my credit score at the so-called closing since my credit score USED TO BE EXCELLENT! It's only horrible now because of Ameriquest. I thought an appraisal was just that an appraisal of your home. Ameriquest generates an appraisal by evaluating homes in the general area? What a crock. Now I know why no one came to the house. And now I know why they can't seem to be able to send me a copy of their appraisal. BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER DONE. Just another $350 they got from me for absolutely nothing. What a bunch of thieves! What about when Ameriquest creates a fraudulent appraisal? Could we report them to the state? Yea right. Oh yes, there are many forged documents in their falsified loan documents. That's also nothing new. I don't believe there is a customer anywhere who hasn't found fraud in their contract. And they get away with it. I have reported them to the state division of banking, along with the Attorney General, 2 governors, 3 senators and the BBB. And I will keep on reporting them. You say lower our payments to rebuild our credit. That is a good one. How the hell can payments be lowered when sucky Ameriquest keeps raising the interest rate. My payment has gone up almost $300 a month in the past 6 months. The jerks just keep on thieving. I agree with Ken. Go the defense of the screwed customers. But, no, the integrity of anyone who ever worked there is sorely lacking. Actually, I don't think I would believe someone if they did want to defend. They would probably lie as they did when working there. You have placed yourself in the position to be judged by admitting that you worked for this company. You told Ken you put people in a better position. Who do you think you are kidding? We are NOT stupid. We just made poor decisions by becoming customers. My payment was $545 before I had to refinance. Ameriquest made it $1,141. Oh yea, that was a better position for me. But, I was married at the time with two incomes so it was affordable at the time. Now, with my one income, it is pretty d**n hard but my payment is made every month. I would lay down and die before Ameritheft took this house. We wouldn't have worked where you did bud so that was a pretty dumb comment. And yes, if I saw a co-worker committing fraud, I would absolutely turn them in. I have morals and a conscience. Conscience is what Ameriquest employees/ex-employees do not seem to have. Were you able to buy a nice, big fancy house in FL with all that ill gained money you stole from customers? I'm sure you did. Bet you have a boat too. And you are scum. So you donate to charity? Big deal. I used to when I could afford it BEFORE Ameritheft raped me. We hate on you because you feel no remorse whatsoever about the customers who struggle everyday and the customers who lost their homes. We all have a right to b***h to you, idiot, because we have always worked at reputable companies, unlike you. You said you are on this site to give insight to people who got burned? Well, in another posting, you bitched me out for who knows? I still haven't figured it out. You are so busy on here putting people down, you can't remember what you read and who to respond to. I'm glad you can sleep at night but it is only due to NO conscience. Whatever Yes, we CHOSE THE PATH buddy. A path that shouldn't have been filled with lies, deceit and fraud. That's what ALL employees/ex-employees were taught and that's what they did. Like Ken said, I have the right to call you scum. I can think of many other terms I would use to describe you AND YOUR LITTLE BUDDIES. The customers are finally fighting back and I think it's great that so many employees have lost their jobs. I think it's great that people are being compensated in the class action suits. And I think it's even more great that people like Ken and David are winning in court. I will soon join them against all the scum at Ameriquest.

Wow you are really a brain washed employee or ex-employee what ever it is today i cant keep up anymore!Yes i still think you are scum and every employee that still works for the company is scum,sorry i have the right to feel that way! Everyone i tell my story to cant beleive what im going through, not to mention all the stress this is putting on my family and myself.This is a huge toll on a family and thats why i am so bitter @ameriquest and all their employees.Then their are the ex-employees that come on here and cry boo h*o i lost my job LIKE I GIVE 2 SHITS im glad they lost their job even if they were a good employees or not they all new what was going on and if they didnt well they were never an employee bottom line. And as far as reading my docks well listen here dumb a*s who ever reads those.The guy that called me (JASON) and sold me this shitting loan told me what i was going to get so i was like great and what i got was very different than what i got.Then the guy they sent to my home to sign papers he was just as smooth.Then i called to next day to ameriquest in grand rapids and they told me jason was fired then the run around began, it was 2 weeks before i was ever even able to talk to someone about my loan then it was to late like the guy on the phone told me tuff s**t thats your loan deal with it! My brother in law owns several properties down in boca raton he is a doctor their when i told him what was going on he could not believe that it happened to me and he has heard how ameriquest treats their customers and i wish when i did a refi i wish i told him who i was going with because he could of told me not to deal with them.So with all that said if you want to b***h about how you got fired and cry about it go start your own web-site you dumb a*s.But then again keep putting your post on hear you are makeing a stronger case for everyone on hear.But know that i know your in boca my brother - in - law says he will make some calls to find out who you are so i can post your full name on here so everyone knows not to get a loan from you if you decide to get another job!Because you are a crook and all of your little buddies are crooks also. will tell you "Yeah, I should have read my docs. I didn't have any idea I was in such grave danger of becoming a victim of one of the largest scams in US history. I had never heard of the anyone getting conned in a mortgage, and I had never had it happen to me. I had no basis by which to judge this imminent danger that I was in. It is one thing to know you are at risk and do nothing to protect yourself. It is entirely another matter to have no previous experience whatsoever to cause you to believe that you are in danger in ANY circumstance." ... or something like that - I may have paraphrased... Lets do the "Justice Scales" here: On one "Scale" you have the scammed consumer who was "blatantly" at fault for not carefully reading all 56 pgs (my instance - although it actually was a lesser number of docs, as Ameriquest "added" some docs later, that curiously had my signatures on), or for not being so highly suspicious, that they would hire an attorney to double and triple check every last word of their mortgage docs. On the other "Scale" is the con artist/scammer, who intentionally and willfully commited fraud against a vulnerable consumer who later OPENLY admitted that they had left themselves wide open for this scam (bad, bad consumer!). Quickie Quiz: "Which one goes to jail and is fined heavily for being in the wrong in the above example?" I KNOW!!! I KNOW!!! TEACHER!! TEACHER!! CALL ON ME!!!! "The answer is: The 'stupid consumer'... EVERYONE knows that!!!". Right, Damon??? Sorry about the sarcasm... I'm just having fun with the "Truth". Actually I was a H.S Science teacher before Ameriquest caused my permanent disability, loss of my job, a reduced income for the rest of my life, and my inability to gainfully be employeed ever again. Did I mention they also illegally originated my loan, set me up to take my house illegally, the lied to me about my redemption options - and that's only a very general overview, as there are about 15 sub-catergories of fraud involved? But... I digress...

Yes there was fraud in my office there is fraud in every AMC office. But to just go to an attorney and hey oh hey Mr Attorney I saw fraud without PROOF is just hearsay MORON. Since my files were by the book and had no access to other files I can not just walk into an attorney general's office and say anything without evidence. Yes I could give my story, IN FACT, I sent my story to every top Newspaper in the United States and guess what, No one every contacted me. SO DON'T JUDGE ME you do not know me at all. Start their go to any attorney tell him the story of how many people lost their homes and now have bad credit and cant even buy a lolly pop on credit! #2 Most people that come to AMC for a loan already had themselves a poor credit problem, all of the customers that came to me were actually left better off because I made sure my loans saved my customers money every single month. OK not every loan officer in my office acted responsilby but guess what, I can only worry about myself and not what others do. I'm so sure you but in YOUR coworkers business and tell them everything they do wrong don't you? Again, you did not work where I did so you have no room to judge me. That what all of you should help the consumer! To make a better life for myself. As for me I worked 10-7 every single day, some days I would come in early on my own or stay late if I had a closing and did one Saturday a month or so. I REFUSE TO WORK OVERTIME FOR ANYONE if I am forced. It is against the law and I enjoy my time off. I was never threatened to lose my job for not working crazy hours. I know some people were not that lucky but no one had the balls to threaten me beacuse I am an educated person and know my rights in this country when it comes to labor laws. I was a top manager for a major retial chain before I went to AMC so I had great knowledge of the laws. I have heard from ex - employees on how much they made some made more in 4 months than i do all year i mean give me a break you guys are scum!!!! #3 Don't call me scum, whenever I see someone down and out I do not look the other way I give the guy a few bucks, I donate to charity. No one held a gun to your head and told you to chose the path you took that is a choice you made. So dont' hate on someone beacuse of how much money they make. I currently do not make as much as I did at AMC and I am so content with mysefl because I work for a great company with great benenfits and a great schedule. So dont b***h to me becuase of what you do for living. Grow Balls and beomce something more only you can choose your path. I will win this case in court and so many others will also. I am a former employee of Ameriquest, Egg Harbor Twp. Branch. I am a witness to so much inter-office forgery on customer files. Here are the facts: AMC charges high rate loans and prey on people's ignorance about lending. Their sales pitch is to hit you with every negative aspect of your credit file and make you feel like a piece of s**t because your credit is poor or not up to par. They convince you that their ARM is the only way to get out of the situation you are in so that you can refinance with them in 2 years. Some Loan Officers will tell you that the next time you refi with them that there will be no fees. WRONG AGAIN. Every time you refinance with ANY LENDER you are going to pay closing costs. That is the only way a lender can pay the bills. As far as appraisals go. Some appraisals are AMC computer generated and they will tell you that an appraiser does not have to physically inspect the home. It is just a compuer evaluation of the area home sales within a specific time frame. The appriser that comes to your home is normally an independent guy that you can just find in your local yellow pages. They are regulated by your state. If you feel that your appraiser made a fraudulent appraiser you can actually report him to the state. As for your loan, I recommend you contact AMC in writing asking for EVERY SINGLE page of your loan package. Do not think the copy they gave you at the table is the true package. They must provide you with a copy within 30 days. Go over every single page to see if there is a discrepency with what they gave you at the table and what they have on file. 9 times out of 10 there is a forged document somewhere. If they fail to compy you can report them to the state division of banking. If you do not know what to look for as far as forgery in the documents, seek an attorney to review them. I am a loan officer and I operate honestly and openely wiht my customers. I always did even at AMC. I would never put a customer in a loan that I owuld not put my family in. However, anyone with BAD credit is going to get an ARM. No if's and's or but's about it. It just makes sense to lower your payments to rebuild your credit. However there are many decent ARMS out there for bad credit people. You just have to shop around.
