I intially attended a free 2-hour session that was supposed to be on how to sell on Amazon, given by 'AMZ Global Training'. ("Learn the Secrets to Creating a 7-Figure Amazon Business") Not much information was revealed, but enough was said to get the majority of the attendees to pay $300 to attend a 3-day "training seminar" so we could get the tips and tricks we needed to help us succeed in selling on Amazon. It ended up being a 3-day paid sales pitch to sign up for ridiculously expensive coaching ($35,000 for the top-tier package!!! Subsequent tiers offered at $20,000 and $10,000.)

The main speaker, John Hyland, and the rest of his "training team" shamelessly encouraged people to max out their credit cards in order to pay for the "essential" coaching packages that come without any guarantees. The information given during the 3-day sales pitch was very vague. Nothing that I couldn't have discovered on my own. John spent a lot of time talking about his wonderful life, how much money he personally makes, and quoting from Tony Robbins and other self-help gurus. They frowned upon networking among attendees of the sales pitch seminar - and I heard they even kicked some people out for exchanging information on the final day.Anyone that had reservations or questions that John did not like was labeled as a negative "Crap Magnet." And he was downright rude to several people, especially an older lady.

On the last day, they pulled individuals aside and tried to pressure people into getting their coaching packages - trying to plant seeds of doubt into our heads that we couldn't succeed without their expertise. I did not sign up, but a lot of people did. Two signed up for the $35,000, top-tier program - and may signed up for the lower tiers.

There were several red flags along the way for me. I tried to call their customer service number two days before the seminar because I had yet to receive any follow-up email about the timing or venue of the seminar and only reached a recording. I emailed and left a message via amzgloabltraining.com - and finally received a text back with the information. Also, the three-day sales pitch was riddled with technical snafus - and there were several errors in the "proprietary" retail arbitrage software that they demonstrated. The software is not available for sale, anyhow. It's only available to people that sign up for coaching. Those that signed up for the $35,000 coaching package were blindly promised that they would also receive the "wonderful" software that AMZ Global Training is currently developing. No details about the software were given. I asked one of the "trainers," "what is the difference between your program and all of the other Amazon training programs out there?" He said, "They are pretty much all the same. We're better because we have the best coaches."

Their promotions are endoresed with logos of credible news sources, like WSJ, Forbes, and TechCrunch, but I couldn't find any mention of AMZ Global Training when I conducted searches on each of the media websites.

I also found another report on Ripoffreport.com that mentioned John Hyland. Apparently he was involved in a similar scam about real estate back in 2006, with a company called Income Strategies Institute.

Apparently, John Hyland is co-owner of AMZ Global Training with a man named Owen (I do not have his last name.) John misled everyone in the seminar, telling a story that made him sound like he was just like one of us, and had discovered AMZ Global Training "14-months ago" and split the payment for the top coaching program between two credit cards...So dishonest! So misleading!!

Please do not get involved with AMZ Global Trainnig. There are many resources available that can help you learn to sell on Amazon without incurring so much debt!!!

You said, "There are many resources available that can help." Please let me know. What are the other companies that will help with drop shipment/fulfillment that you would recommend? Thank you.

I submitted a request for a refund of the $297 I paid to attend the 3-day sales pitch on the AMZ Global Training website. I was misled to believe I would actually come out of the 3-day seminar with tips and tricks to succeed in "makign 7-figures on Amazon." Instead I was given information that I can find on my own and told all other information is reserved for students that pay for coaching ($35,000, $20,000, or $10,000) I am waiting for a response.
