Unfortunately the box you are talking about is probably "check this box to use this card for renewals" or very similar words and has nothing to do with auto-renewals. The autorenewal policies are in the "terms and Conditions". It is very misleading to say the least. The BBB unfortunately has a "satisfactory rating" for MFI at the present time. I have never seem anything worse than an "under review" from the BBB for MFI as a result of "customer experience". There ratins for an online company are worthless in my opinion. I was notified by email that Ancestry.com had charged my credit card for a Family Tree product which I did not reqeus, authorize or even want. They admit it was an error on their part but are unwilling to return my money until 30 days after they are in receipt of the original product. I am told that it shipped out to me 1 day ago and I must refuse it with my post office and once it is back in their shipping department, they will refund my credit card within 30 days. I requested that they recall the item but no go. Forget the 14 day trial offer, you cannot get through to them to cancel. They disconnect you or tell you their computers are down and you will need to call back. I have never seen a company work in such an underhanded manner and would encourage anyone thinking of using Ancestry.com to try Familysearch.org. Much better information and WOW! it's free. Save yourself some money and big headaches and avoid Ancestry.com like the plague.
