In Dec. 2005, South Carolina had a real bad ice storm. My power was out for 5 1/2 days. When it came back on my alarm system wouldn't work. I have done business with Protect America for over 5 yrs. Since my payments were being automatically drafted every month, there wasn't a paper trail. The ADT card was of no use-no one had me listed as a customer. To get their attention, I had to close out my checking acct.

A few weeks later I was sent a bill. I checked all my outlets, replaced a 9 volt battery, was sent a new powercord, and finally a new system. None of these fixed the problem. I was told to buy a better phone system with more GHz. This cost me another $120. In the meantime, I purchased 2 more alarms for the windows and spent $88. I worked with this company from April to July to try to rectify the problem. I was still getting billed for a service I wasn't getting.I sent the system back in August,2006.

A few weeks ago, Anderson, Crenshaw and Assoc contacted me. The 1st person I talked to-very rude said "you owe the bill, Pay it!" On July 12, 2007 another Rep for this company stated that I could pay $599 to keep from being reported to the 3 Credit Bureaus, pay a $250 reinstatement fee on condition that I sign up with their service for 3 more yrs or take it to court. Todays Rep with my way of thinking to please not reproduce any more kids! Is this legal? Why haven't they been stopped?
