I replied to an ad and this is what they sent me...."We'd like to thank you for your general interest in our company, Anex Marketing, Inc. After reviewing the resumes, we feel as if yours exemplifies many of the qualifications that we are looking for in our team. We would like to meet with you within the next few days to begin the formal interview process. Prior to an initial interview we recommend browsing our company website at... to find additional information concerning our company's innovative marketing concepts."

I fell for it and went in for an interview. When I got there, they were installing a new desk, which seemed much more important to them, than being prompt for my interview. All the employees looked like they were 12...very young. During that time, 3 other applicants came in. When they finally got the new desk installed, I was called back to be interviewed. I was not interviewed by who I was told I'd be talking to.

This was definitely not a "formal interview"! To top it off, I was interviewed WITH ANOTHER APPLICANT!!! Red Flag right there.

She asked "us" a few questions and began to fill us in on the details of the job:

They basically wanted you to work for NO PAY !!! Only Commission at 60 hours a week!!! (6 days, at 10 hours a day for 30% commission) They told me it was for selling t-shirts and other small items for a "non-profit" organization (yeah, them!) Then they wanted you to work 2 days with one of their "Team members", for no pay, to see what it's like. 2 people "Teams", "work in front of a busy place, like Walmart, and sell the items".

During the interview, I heard chanting going on in the next room, pumping themselves up for selling. Seemed very strange to me.

I began to ask questions, which I think she didn't like. She said she was going to start a new office in California and needed to hire more people. She had 38 interviews scheduled that day!! (She told "us" that).

I asked to give an example of how much one could make and she said, if they sold $300 worth of merchandise, they would get 30% ($90). I said, "Well, what if you only sell $100 of merchandise?...you only get $30 for the DAY?...for 10 hours of work?" She said, "Yeah, basically." I knew right then it was a scam and that I wouldn't be getting a "call back interview"...darn!

It says it's called Anex Marketing, but when they called, the caller ID said The Daxter Group. When I got home from the interview, I looked that up on Google and it had a listing under Ripoff Report. The report I read was EXACTLY what happened to me...unbelievable!

Don't believe anything they tell you. I just can't believe that there are people out there that purposely want to take advantage of those that really need jobs. I feel sorry for those that have fallen for their scam.

Chalk it up to experience
