My husband and I bought 3 tickets for a Sunday Yankees Game in New York City on eBay in August 2006.
We received the tickets in the mail - these were Ticketmaster "ticketfast" tickets in the name of "FRANK LA".We left Syracuse on Saturday afternoon and stayed over in New Jersey, then drove into the Bronx on Sunday morning for the 1:05 pm game.
When we finally made it to the front gates, the tickets were scanned by the gentleman at the door and EACH AND EVERY TICKET came up REFUNDED.
We were advised to take the tickets to the ticket counter and customer service to find out what was going on.The tickets were scanned again at the customer service counter and indeed were invalid.
The customer service agent told us the tickets had been cancelled and refunded and stamped them "VOID NOT VALID FOR ENTRY".
The way the Ticketfast system works, either Ann Greenhoe resold these tickets again after selling to us, thereby making OUR tickets invalid - or they were simply color copies that she made and sold over and over again.
Because they scanned REFUNDED, I think that Ann Greenhoe resold the seats and so the tickets were given a new barcode for the next buyer after being sold to us, and our tickets were then invalidated and the barcodes cancelled.
Yankee Stadium is a 10 hour round trip for us and these tickets were a Christmas present for my young daughter.
Not only had we spent several hundred dollars just to make the trip, but my daughters special trip was ruined. She was heartbroken and cried when she realized what had happened.
Ann M Greenhoe sells under the following eBay ID's:
