Aol consumer rip-off fraud charge of 134.95 for mwi*simple escapes Nationwide
have been on aol since feb of 2003 imagine my surprise when i got my credit card statement in may of 2003 to find a charge of 134.95 for mwi*simple escapes 2 a company for which i have never heard of. called my credit card company they said to call simple escapes, this company told me i had ordered there service in march, it was a free trial.
i argueed with them and asked them how they got my credit card number, guess what, aol gave it to them. i called aol, after talking to at least 10 people, they all denied it and said it was my fault. simple escapes said they would cancel their order, but it would take at least 2 months, called aol again to see how i could stop them from giving out my credit card information, after talking to several more people they told me that they would give me 2 free monthes of service.
transfered me to their verifacation person who told me that i had just ordered sprint long distance services. told them that i did not want sprint, did not want simple escapes and now i am stuck with a bill for 134.95 and i dont even know what the company does. plus i will probably have to cancel my credit card because aol has my number.
