I WORKED FOR DENNIS AND WADE ANDERSON FOR OVER 8 YEARS. WADE ANDERSON HIRED A CHILD MOLESTER WHO HAS BEEN CONVICTED TWICE MIND YOU. TO WORK AT OUR PHOENIX STORE. I CONVEYED MY FEELINGS ABOUT THIS TO MY MANAGER AT THE MESA LOCATION. WE BOTH AGREED IT WAS NOT A GOOD MOVE FOR THE COMPANY. BUT HE WAS OVER THERE OVER 20 MILES AWAY. I WAS FINE WITHTHAT. MY MANAGER CALLED THE PHOENIX STORE AND TALKED TO WADE ANDERSON THE GENERAL MANAGER. HE TOLD WADE NOT TO AT ANY TIME SEND THAT MOLESTER OVER TO OUR LOCATION. IT WOULD CAUSE A SERIUOS PROBLEM WITH ME AND MY MANAGER. IT IS VERY PERSONAL TO ME BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN FIRST HAND THE LONG TERM DAMAGE THAT IS DONE BY A CHILD MOLESTER.AND MY BROTHERS KID WAS MOLESTED TO TOP IT OFF. SO IT HITS CLOSE TO HOME. AND MY MANAGER HAS KIDS AS WELL..

ANY WAY WADE COMES OVER TO OUR MESA STORE AND TELLS ME!!! HE DOESNT ASK ME HE TELLS ME I HAVE TO GO TO THE PHOENIX LOCATION TO WORK. MIND YOU MY STORE ONLY HAS ME AND THE MANAGER. AND THEPHX LOCATION HAS 5 OR 6 TOTAL. SO OUR STORE IS SEVERELY UNDERMANED. SO I TOLD WADE NO!! HE SAID I HAVE TO OR RESIGNS. WE ARGUED A LOUD IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS EVERY BODY HEARD ME.. I MADE THAT A POINT FORSURE. SO MY OPTONS WERE TO GO WITH A CHILD MOLESTER OR LOSE MY JOB.. WELL I AM UNEMPLOYED NOW.. HAVE TO FILE BANK RUPTCY, AND WILL PROBALY LOSE MY CAR... IM SORRY I JUST CANT MUSTER UP ENOUGH NERVE TO WORK WITH A PERSON WHO HURTS CHILDREN LIKE THAT,, IT SHOULD BE A VIOLATION TO MY RIGHT WOULDNT YOU THINK... I AM TRYING TO CONSULT WITH LAWYERS BUT THEY ALL WANT MONEY AND I AM SO BROKE.. BUT I TOLD MY MANGER BEFORE I LEFT THAT I WOULD BE SORRY FOR LEAVING HIM HANGING AT THE STORE BY HIM SELF, AND I RATHER BE BROKE AND ON THE STREETS BEFORE I STOOP TO THE LEVEL OF WORKING WITH A CREEP LIKE THAT!!

I HAVE ASKED SO MANY PEOPLE IF THEY WOULD WORK WITH A MOLESTER AND ALL HAVE SAID NO!! THE GM DEFENDS THIS GUY TO THE FULLEST, YEA SO HE PAID HIS DEBT TO SOCIETY!!! BIG WOOP.. WHAT ANOUT THE KIDS THIS GUY HURT... THEY HAVE A LIFETIME BID OF EMOTIONAL TRAUMA!!!!!

I applaud you for taking a stand

Marcus I applaud you for taking a stand against your decision because, I am familiar with the heartache of that issue. Anyway I think the situation could have been handled differently. Based on the information you provided it seems as though you were a good employee to the company, because 8 plus years basically says you obviously enjoyed your job. It seems that you were upset that this dedication also was not taken into consideration as well. However,I would have STRESSED again to the mgr IN A OFFICE that it is not in the best interest for you nor the company to have you work with the KNOWN molester. The reason why KNOWN is capitalized is because you never know who is doing something offensive period and it is a hard fact to prove. Eighty percent of the U.S has mental issues and does not even know it, that's why things are the way they are now. Incorrect thinking. In the heat of the moment you have made a hasty decision, but it's totally understandable..this was your defense mode talking) you have the right to be angry. You should have thought about the long run and asked yourself, How many times would you have to work with this person again? Was it just for that day, or until enough staff was found. You should be able to get another job in that area shouldn't you? I pray for your speedy recovery in all your financial endeavors.

So what should we do with them?

"Molesters should not be working with our without children. No wonder crime is so high in America. L - Prescott, Arizona U.S.A." So, what then? Keep them in jail against the Constitution? AZ jails are already too full because of that goon Arpaio. Don't we taxpayers have enough of a burden already? Or should we let them out, but put them on assisted living (welfare, unemployment, etc.) so that they can waste more taxpayer money? I wholeheartedly agree that convicted child molestors should not live, work, or otherwise be in the general vicinity of children. But that does not mean they should be cut off from all means of survival.

You are a nutcase! What makes you think my opinions makes me considered a "liberal"? Why do you think women are worst than felons (you forgot there are male AND female felons you know)? Your ignorance is shameful.

Note to Robert and Mike ..I'd rather hire a felon than a woman

Judging from L's posts, it is likely (hoping I'm correct) that it's a woman. Well, in this case, being a business owner, I'd rather hire a felon than a woman (or one who is hysterical like L)!

I'm tired of people like you always shouting "victim's rights! victim's rights!". Hey, felon's are people to! I would rather have a sex offender working for me that some nitwit yelling at me how to do my job. Robert and Mike are right....you "L" are WRONG!!!!! You bleeding heart anti-crime liberals should go away!

No employer is going to post a sign saying they have hired a convicted criminal of any sort. Why would they? They are also under no obligation to inform the other employees. What you are saying is the convict should be either left in prison forever(not allowed according to our Constitution), or go on the public dole upon release, since "L" thinks they shouldn't be able to work anywhere. Go shopping today and ask for an "alpha roster" of all the employees. Take that home and start searching the public records for convictions. Make up your huge list of all the places you won't ever go into again, and get ready to be very lonely, hungry, naked, unemployed, penniless, etc. Federal Law bars discrimination based on anything...criminal records included. As long as a convicted child molester is not working directly with children, they are fully employable. You also need to get over yourself. I am sure your employer would like your help with rousting all the ex-cons out of his/her company. Go ahead and help him/her do that. I am sure he/she will be overjoyed by your enthusiasm and willingness to put the company in legal jeopardy.

Marcus is just venting his frustration

#12Consumer Suggestion

Sat, November 26, 2005

When he believes he shouldn't be working with a known child molester, he has every right to be frustrated about this. That does NOT mean, however, that Marcus will be like that with future employers. Any company who has employed a person who committed ANY serious crime like molestation of minors is a total outrage. As a customer, I would boycott these places that hire these type of criminals, and I'm sure everyone else would agree.

Marcus, you attitude tells me that you are going to have a hard time ever developing a professional career. In your own words: ".....TELLS ME!!! HE DOESNT ASK ME HE TELLS ME I HAVE TO GO TO THE PHOENIX LOCATION TO WORK." - Oh my gosh, the boss did'nt ask where he could assign you? He just told you, like he's the boss or something? "SO I TOLD WADE NO!!", - if found that I can always get ahead in my career by telling my supervisors what I d**n well won't do. "WE ARGUED A LOUD IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS EVERY BODY HEARD ME" - A great way to show that you are a team player and have a highly professional attitude. "MY OPTONS WERE" - You had more options than that, but instead you chose to argue and proclaim "NO". You made your choice, grow up and accept the consequences. "IT SHOULD BE A VIOLATION TO MY RIGHT WOULDNT YOU THINK" - No, what rights were violated? The right to dictate to your boss how, where, and when you will work? I'm sure that Dennis & Wade are kicking themselves for losing such a professional, cooperative, and enjoyable employee.

No child molester should be working

#14Consumer Suggestion

Sorry, but I think it's still wrong for people like Marcus to get the shaft when they believe the person they are working for is a known child molester. Molesters should be thrown in jail, not working.

Are you daft? Living by your principles has a price to be paid sometimes.

How does my saying I find child molesters to be abhorrent, in any way represent support for them? Just because I dislike someone, does not mean I am in charge of where they work. Marcus is not in charge of hiring or firing. His boss gave him a choice...work with the other guy, or leave. Marcus chose to leave. Fine. Now, he complains because of his choice. Living by your principles has a price to be paid sometimes. In Marcus' case, it cost him his job.

To Marcus, I applaud your decision not to work with a known child molester. I'm sorry that it did not work out for you and things turned for the worse, but I myself too will not work with someone who has perverted our society by committing something so sick! These jerks should remain in jail for the rest of your lives. I hope that you will find something better one day, I'm sure you will. As for Robert-you said that you are not a molester, yet your statement shows you actually support them and you ought to be ashamed of yourself!

Your own fault

#17Consumer Comment

You had a job, and chose to not keep it. This will come as a great shock to you, but the owner of the business doesn't need to ask you if he can hire someone. Just because you have an issue with someone, has no bearing on schedules or placement within the company. Get over yourself. And before you start spewing your venom at me, no, I am not a child molester. I also find them abhorrent. The difference is simple. I don't make it a point to inform everyone around me who the molesters are. I also never tried to tell my employers who they could or couldn't hire. I always figured I would be the first to be let go, so I kept quiet.
