I was moving from Canton, GA to Akron OH. I went online to ask for moving quotes, I received many emails and phone calls from several moving companies.

I choose Zen Van Lines because I felt that the owner, Paul Bedi who called me was professional and knowledgeable, and also because the company was local.

Well... to my surprise... Zen Van Lines was a very big mistake that cost me lots of money and stress.

I received a price from Paul over the phone, which was $2,000. The day the movers showed up to my home in Canton, Ga. ( they were 3 hours late)they told me that the price would be more due to the fact that I had more boxes than I first had priced. I said how much more? The guy told me about $200 dollars. I said that I was not able to go over the $2,000. So I left off many items not to move, like, dining roomtable, 4 chairs, lamp, end table.

The guy told me that it would be ok, he had spoken to Paul, the owner, and he said that I would not go over $2,000 since I had left off some items. I paid $1,284 the day of pick up.

The day the movers were at my old home was Thursday, October 30th 2008.

I receive a phone call from Paul on Tuesday, November 4th 2008. He tells me that after adding up the cost of my items I would now owe $550 more than the $2,000.

I told him about the conversation that I had with his mover the day they picked up my furniture. He refused to honor it.

So now rather than $716 due at drop off I will owe $1,266.

He also said that the window of drop off in Ohio would be Nov 7th or 8th.

I arrived in Ohio, after a very long drive from Alabama, On Friday, November7th.

As I drive up to my new home, the movers are there waiting. They had called me about 2 hours before saying they had gotten there, I told them I was on my way. They said ok. I also ask them if they wanted to start unloading, he said no.

The movers told me that before they would unload my items that now I will have to pay them $300 more dollars, because they had to wait. Now look back at the day they were to be at my home, (they were 3 hours late), but they said that does not matter, they have to account for traffic and weather. So I said, well I too was in traffic and weather driving here.

As we sat waiting for Paul, the owner, to call, because I was not paying more money. They had already raised the price from the beginning, so I felt that is was unfair to charge me more.

Well,to end this, I had to call the Police in Akron, Oh to come to my home I showed the police my paper work and the check I had in my hand for the $1,266

The police told the movers that they had to unload my items, because I had paid what they ask for in the beginning.

The movers told me that Paul, called and told them to tell me that he would put the $300 on my credit report since I did not pay.

My point to this whole thing is that I will never use this company again, and I wish that you do not either. As I read more reviews I see that this company needs God in their life.
