DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT PURCHASING FROM THIS COMPANY! I did and am getting sued by ASAP for returning a blown motor.

I ordered a motor for my Nissan Truck. I contracted a reputable dealer to install the motor. After removal of old Motor from truck, vehicle was preped for insatallation of supposedly good motor. Motor had # four piston missing and indications of blown motor, contrary to claims of ASAP that "motor was low mileage motor, cylinder leak down tested, inspected internally and cleaned", but had many pieces of Ole # four cylinder in oil pan. ASAP was contacted and ASAP arranged with trucking company to pick up motor and transport back to Texas.

After Motor was picked up by trucking company, I contacted credit card company and complained about ASAP selling defective merchandise. I notified the credit card company that I was not going to pay ASAP. ASAP then retaliated by sending threatening letter indicating legal action would be started if I did not pay for motor since they had no record of the motor being returned.

I contacted the company (Dina Armstrong) and was told by her that I had to provide proof that the motor was actually sent. I provided her with the freight bill no. 004690142 from Wichita Southeast Kansas Transit Inc. who picked up the motor for transportation. She said she would check into it and the next time I heard any thing else about the situation, I have a lawsuit filed against me in Small Claims court of Harris County Texas with a court date set for Aug. 2, 2004 at 0800.

I have no recourse but to represent myself in court and plead my case. The claim brought against me in court is completely false and I will prove it with the overwelming evidence I have collected in the last year. I have contacted a local lawyer in Houston and he says I have an excellent case for winning and should prepare a counter claim for the Judge to consider. However, if any of you local folk will be around for the court time and date for support and possible witnessing, I would greatly appreciate it. Unless ASAP drops the charges I will file a counter claim for damages to me.

I am planning on filing a complaint with our Missouri Attorney General Office. Note that there are 11 other reports already filed at this site so we all have to stick together to see that these crooks get what they deserve. Someone needs to start a class action suit against them.

I have already filed a complaint with the Better Buisenes Bureau (BBB) but of course we know how helpfull they are. And by the way, as of this date - 06/24/04, there have been 76 complaints filled against them with the BBB in the last 12 months and 98 in the last 36 months. Business is picking up eh?

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!

My transmission that I received did not function. So I call ASAP back to report the issue, when calling back they were trying to sell me one with an extended warranty. I told them I already purchased one and had an issue and was never offered an extended warranty that covered labor. Now they will not add the extended warranty, and we will see how they fix the transmission problem.
