Complaint Review: Ashworth College - Norcross Georgia

Ashworth College is nationally accredited but isn't regionally and most major universities are as well. Regional accedited colleges are going the way of the dinosaur as it causes a number of issues with other colleges, not just Ashworth. The main thing is that this college is recognized by the Board of Education and that's all that matters. I know a lot of people who have Ashworth and PCDI diploma's and degrees and they are just as accepted as any other degree. If the colleges you applied to are saying that, they are most likely trying to get a lot of money out of you for no reason as it doesn't make any sense.

I'm glad to hear that others have not had a problem transferring their credits. However, I have been told by NUMEROUS universities with whom I've applied, that they could not accept credits from Ashworth College because they were not accredited with the Southern Regional Accreditation board (I believe that was the name; I don't have my notes in front of me at the moment). I'm still attempting to ascertain whether I've been supplied with erroneous information. However, at this point, NONE of the universities with whom I have attempted to apply is accepting credits from Ashworth College/University, period, because of their lack of appropriate/adequate credentialing. I have also attempted NUMEROUS times to contact Ashworth about this situation, but either I am given the run around when I call and transferred to individuals who claim that I've been transferred to the wrong department, or my letters are never answered. I spoke with one call center representative several months ago who said that he had recently 'placed' several recent graduates of Ashworth with other colleges, and that he would check into my situation and call me back. I STILL have yet to hear from him, or anyone else at Ashworth regarding this issue. So, if anyone has any suggestions, I would be more than happy to see if there is some other avenue I can follow to obtain resolution for this situation. At this point, I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't.

I attend "traditional" college in Ohio at a major university and I recently transfered in math credits from ashworth and they were excepted. I am studying criminal justice with ashworth and nursing at my other school and had no problems with credit transfer. On ashworths website it states that they are "nationally accredited" -not regionally accredited, and it is up to each individual school what credits they accept and what schools they accept them from. Cant blame ashworth for other schools rules.. Go BUCKS! and Go Ashworth! Sorry about your luck!

Hello! I was a student at Ashworth College (now University) taking courses for an Associate Degree in Psychology. I paid regularly each month, received all my textbooks and materials on time, completed all the requirements, and graduated on April 19th, 2007. Actually, I paid my leftover balance after monthly payments on the 19th, so that was considered my graduation date. However, I expected to see my diploma arriving any day, and a month and a half later, I still do not have it. I've been given conflicting information regarding the diploma, and why it has been delayed. First I was told there was a new company preparing them and sending them out, and they would be delayed. I understood. After another month, I called to see what happened. "James" told me that I should have gotten it by now, and that he would send one right out. Now this makes no sense to me. I thought another company was doing it! So I still don't have the diploma, and I still have no class ring, though that is handled separately and they stated that it would be 8 weeks until delivery. I am very pleased with the course work from Ashworth, and the credits do, indeed, transfer to other online schools. I am now enrolled at AshFORD in Iowa, a school with a rich campus tradition since 1918. I am working on my Bachelor's degree in Psychology there. They and many other schools must accept PCDI credits now, because so many students are using the career development schools. It is a very recent development. A year ago, I wouldn't have imagined I would be able to transfer the Ashworth credits. Overall, though, I was satisfied with the level of education at Ashworth and felt it was challenging enough, but am generally disappointed with their handling of matters that should be addressed promptly. I might add that I am 60 years old, and going forward with my education was not a consideration when I enrolled with Ashworth. It was only when I got close to graduation that I decided to go forward. Ashworth's delays in sending out my transcript to my new school has also delayed my degree audit with the new school, making it difficult to get everything squared away. I am distracted from my studies by the problems with Ashworth's administrative quality. I also might add that I graduated from Ashworth with a 4.0 GPA, and sincerely believe that I got a good basic education with them. Regards,
