Complaint Review: AT&T - AMERICAN IDOL - Omaha Nebraska

Don't you find it ridiculous that this is more important than our own government? I find it ridiculous that people CARE if american idol was rigged or not. It doesn't affect their lives in any way shape or form.

In case it hasn't dawned on you yet, the majority of America pays more attention to American Idol than they do their own government officials. A huge majority of the population can tell you who the runners-up are on American Idol, but cannot tell you who the current Vice President is.

but american idol does have the right to decide what method they use in determining the winner. The fact that ANYONE can vote more than once makes the whole contest rigged to begin with. Fixing a game show, and getting people to vote extra for a candidate on a reality show are far different things.

Not that I care about the whinings of inane TV addicts, I just had to mention one thing. It is not legal to rig televised game shows and contests. You may have heard of the rigging scandals of the 1950s involving the shows Twenty-one and Dotto. Following that, legislation was added to the Communications Act of 1960 that made it a federal offense to rig the outcome of a televised contest.

Rigging things is against the law? That would be true, IN AN ELECTION, this however is a television show. They are under no obligation to even LISTEN to your votes. They could rig it every season if they wanted and it would be PERFECTLY LEGAL. You are insane if you want to compare american idol to the 2000 election.

The rip off is how the homo kid got cheated out of his prize and another thing, it is a rip off cause it is rigged. Rigging things is against the law in America.
