AT&T Services - Mr. James R. Smith AT&T/Yahoo advertised Free modem after the $50.00 rebate never received the money. ripoff Culver City California
AT&T/Yahoo advertised "Residential Broadband Internet $14.99/month with NO contract & FREE Modem". I purchased the Siemens DSL Modem for $49.99 on 12/30/2006 at the AT&T store in Culver City, CA. Mr. James R. Smith the Home Solutions Consultant at the store gave me the flyer which showed the "FREE Modem" after the $50.00 rebate.
I mailed the rebate request form on 2/20/2007 with all the required items.
My name never came up on the company's rebate information. I talked to several employees at the AT&T rebate department and received different answers. I requested to talk to a manager and was told there are no managers at that location.
I went back to the store on three different occasions to get an honest answer. Mr. James R. Smith the AT&T employee called the rebate department and he got no further than I did. I called him on several occasions and he never returned any of my phone calls.
The AT&T company is guilty of dishonest advertising and ripping people off.
The Culver City AT&T store is also guilty of false advertising and of very poor customer service.
