If you get a call or hear of a chance to work for and/or with "Audioworks Producers Group," "American Center for Arts & Culture," "Kip Kaplan," "Barry Kip Kaplan," "B. Kip Kaplan," "Lona Kaplan," "Lona Benney," and/or "Lona Kaplan Benney," go running! These are all one-in-the-same, in a way.

This was my previous contractor for work from June 2005 through the end of March 2006. I work freelance in television/film production and served as the production coordinator/associate producer for Kip's company. In my time there, there were numerous people whom had had "issues" of various sorts with Kip, but basically all evolving around monetary compensation.

Kip is now infamous for not paying bills to previous independent contractors such as coordinators, editors, actors and dubbing houses, in addition to general office expenses like cell phone bills and shipping expenses.

At any rate, once I made a decision to further my career by attempting to disassociate myself with Kip's shady practises, he stopped payment on two paychecks he had already signed and issued me, both of which I had deposited and was dependent upon. To date he owes me $904; $850 for services that were rendered and $54 in bank service charges reflective of his withdrawn payment.

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Julie M, d.b.a. Key Lim Productions, LLC, was a vendor providing production services to our company. She accepted a fee and then, with absolutely NO notice, called the same evening and quit; leaving us overwhelmed with logistics to handle. As a result, we put a STOP PAYMENT on the check she was issued. We eventually settled the case before an arbitrator, and she was paid some money. She is owed nothing. She brought the whole affair on herself, by jumping to another job, after she had agreed to do our job, and accepted advance payment. It is my opinion that she is a viscious opportunist. Be forewarned.
