1. Flight from Quito, Ecuador to Bogota, Columbia got delayed by 4 hours because of mechanical issues on the plane. After waiting on the plane for an hour, everyone was ordered off the plane.

 

2. Avianca's staff was extremely unhelpful after this and we couldn't talk to nor learn any information about what was going to happen next. After finally about 4 hours after original take off time we get told we are to board the plane again that was just fixed which we almost missed because nobody told us anything.

 

3. Because of this 4 hour delay, We missed our next 2 connecting flights to go back home.  

 

4. When we landed in Bogota, Avianca's staff was trying to accommodate my girlfriend and I to get back home to Vancouver, Canada where we were originally heading. 

We were then given new flight tickets to get back home. We were told in Bogota from the staff what our new itinerary was, which included a bunch of false information from Avianca as to what we were to expect next. 

 

5. Lies we were told;

- That we would have a 1 hour layover in San Salvador - We had a 10 minutes from landing to get to our next flight before it was taking off.

- That we would get food vouchers and a hotel in Los Angeles and we would arrive there at 9pm. - We arrived there at midnight and Aviancas staff proceeded to ignore us for what we were told we would get and also provided no help on the situation. We got no food vouchers and we got no hotel stay. We had to sleep on Los Angeles floors with no food untill 7am when our next flight was to YVR, Canada.

-We were told we were to pick up our Bags at Los Angeles - Our Bags got lost and didnt arrive at Los Angeles. Again, nobody helped or let us know anything that was happening

 

6. Its now been over 24 hours from our Land in YVR, Canada and we have no idea whats going on with our bags. They are gone and lost and missing vital personal property which we need.

 

7. We went from our original Itinerary of 16 hours and 3 planes to 4 plans and something like 33 hours of travel time. 

 

8. Our entire trip home we didnt know what was happening and fed lies and just brushed off to the staff in the next destination cause nobody wanted to help us and this went on and on.

 

9. The only people to actually help us was from Air Canada when we landed when it wasn't even their problem.

 

This entire experience has been the worst experience ever and my girlfriend and I have never felt like such a second class citizen before. 

Something needs to happen to reprehend this travesty.  We have lost baggage and we had a hellish past days.
