Already an admission on their website:
Despite the amazing artist performances we appreciate that the compounding challenges that we faced on Saturday diminished the festival experience of a number of our patrons. We would like reconcile this as we truly value all of our patrons. Please save your ticket stub and/or payment receipt to document your purchase of Balboa Music Festival tickets as we will be announcing an accommodation for attendees in near future.
This was the WORST venue of the summer! The Promoters, Steve Gable, Willie McGuinnest, KJLH, et al. were only interested in a payday. There was no concern for patrons in the over 100 degree tempurature. Patrons were fainting before even entering venue. Never have I seen so much fire and rescue at one event. NO shuttles. Had to walk almost 5 miles each way to parking, around the entire Balboa lake, carrying icechests, etc., in the scorching sun. When you finally reached destination the line to get in was 5 miles long. There was NO security, so general admission patrons had free reign to VIP, silver and gold sections. It's amazing that no one was injured. NOT enough bathroom facilities. I literally fainted while waiting in line to use one of the portable bathroom facilities (there was only 4 near the VIP section and only one was usable due to filthy conditions). I was administered 2 liters intravenous!! The sets were cut so short due to timing constraints. Gladys Knight did not appear at all. As fate would have it I came face to face with one of the promoters, Steve Gable. When I voiced my opinions and showed him my bandage his response was he didn't know the turn out was going to be so large. Give me a break! I want my money back. This summer I attended, Playboy Jazz, San Dimas Jazz, Long Beach Jazz, but the treatment received at this venue was the most horrible experience ever.
