BBB West Virginia - TurnKey Homes - For The Six The Great BBB (HA!) The Key to better Living" More like the Key to Hell!! Roanoke Virginia
We filed a complaint with the BBB against Turnkey Homes of Burnt Chimney in Virgina. We visited the BBB, supplied pictures and other supporting documentation to support our complaint.
All the BBB did was forward our letter to TurnKey and vice a versa. TurnKey claimed they completed the work and because they "claimed" to have completed the work and addressed the specific complaints in their letter, as far as the BBB was concerned, the matter was closed.
We showed them photographs of the poor workmanship but TurnKey claimed we "doctored" the photographs. This is absurd but accepted by the BBB.
The process went over the 30 days allowed time frame so the BBB closed the complaint as "resolved". This is not true!!! The problems were NOT resolved, in fact may new problems arose. For one example, a Turnkey employee split paint on the carpet and didn't even attempt to clean it up off the carpet, windows or blinds. After that incident and having dealt with ongoing problems and having been treated like dirt by TurnKey Homes Staff for over a year, we would not let the TurnKey back on the property. At that time, the Great BBB declared the company "made every effort to fix the repairs" and now we were at fault for not letting TurnKey Homes come back onto the property.
At what point is the consumer allowed to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough?? We did not just suddenly not allow them to complete the work. We had had enough!!
We then filed a complaint with the Council of the BBB, that was a joke as too!!
So as it stands, the BBB has lied about my complaint, stating the "Company resolved the complaint issues. The consumer failed to acknowledge acceptance to the BBB." This is FALSE!!!!!!!!!!! The problems have NOT been resolved!!! And we most certainly had been in contact with the BBB of SW Virginia!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Filing a complaint with the BBB is a joke and waste of time!!!!!!! Unfortunately!

Thankful they have gone out of business...They are in serious financial trouble. I only wish their licensed had been revoked by the DPOR to prevent them from EVER starting another contracting company.
If you have compliants on a contractor, Contact your local Department of Profession and Occupation Regulation (DPOR) and/or the Dept of Housing and Development (DHCD)
