This has happened to me two different times now. I have so much in my account and I proceed to purchase items, BB&T puts them as pending charges but the charges reflect in my available balance then wait a week to send the charges through and hit me with overdraft fees.

 I see, you don't keep written records, do you? You don't keep a check register, nor do you ever balance your account, do you? If you MANAGED your account like this you would never have any OD fees because you would account for each and every debit and keep an on-going running balance so that at ANY time you would know how much you have. YOU overdrafted the account because when the money was taken out of your account, it wasn't there because other debits came thru first! No mystery here. You like thousands of others come here to whine and wail at the big bad banks all because you never keep written records...and no, I don't work for them.
