Bender Ball Automatic enrollment in a monthly mail item program w/out authorization Van Nuys California
I ordered a Bender Ball over the internet in June for the price of $9.99 + S & H. The total charged to my credit card was $20.91 Ok, its over I wasn't going to argue about it. In September I received a package from them, knowing I had not ordered anything else, maybe it was a mistake and I will receive a letter soon asking me to return it. A month later I opened it and it said free. October 30th I received a box from Bender Ball and I had not ordered anything.
I called them on 11/6/2008 and checked my credit card statement, to find they have been charging my credit card so I call customer service and am told I was enrolled automatic in the Leslee's Risk free automatic onging video shipment program. My understanting, there is no opt In or Out clause but can cancel program at anytime. Since I had not sent the item back from September I could not send it back even though it has not been opened and they have charged my cr. card another 26.98 (19.99 + 6.99s/h). There is a 30 day deadline. I can send back the box just received in October, at my expense. I could not refuse this package as it was left on my door step by the post office.
I feel its unethical for a company to enrolled the consumer in a program, when the rules are not made clear, and the consumer is unaware of the enrollment program and not given the option to enroll or not. I want to make other people aware of this deception
