Dear Mr. Bernard Haldane,

SUBJECT: CLIENT WITHDRAWAL

I will give some background first; I had filled out your survey online and originally met with Stacey Halverson in your Maitland, Florida office. This was done after seeing an advertisement in the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper, in the employment section Titled "JOB HUNTING, $30,000-$350,000" subsection Retiring Military seeking growth and better earnings in the private sector. I clearly saw this as an ad for job placement.

Here is another ad found in the employment section of the Orlando Sentinel "Management, Management Opportunities, Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, Bernard Haldane Associates, a leader in the employment industry since 1947, is in the process of choosing a select group of accomplished management professionals for the purpose of advancing their careers to a new plateau of excellence. For a confidential interview, please call Miss Greene: 407-660-8323.BHA Website www.jobhunting.com."

So then, in a meeting with Ms. Stacey Halverson she asked me what income bracket I was looking at. I stated $60,000.00. At that time she assured me as a future client, she would have no trouble finding me employment. We met once more on 23 July 2001 with my wife present "telling her with my background a job in the pay range of $80,000.00-$100,000.00 should be easy to find, and I wouldn't have to search the newspapers and internet any longer". "Ms. Halverson also stated that they put Haldane clients in positions where they can later go to employ other Haldane clients."

"Ms. Halverson also stated that the fee was based on how long they thought it would take to place you in a job by looking at your background.

She then "said I could place this on my charge account and it would take 45 days to process and most likely I would have a job by then and some companies pay part of the fee, all of the fee or none but with a job in that high an income bracket it is a good investment in yourself and a tax write off." At this point she looked at my wife saying she could usually read people but she couldn't on my wife, my wife the stated it sounded to good to be true and of course Ms. Halverson assured us both how she enrolled a s a client and had four job offers and took this one with Haldane. So after all that was told to me she took my charge card enrolled me as a client, and quickly slid the paperwork and said lets just sign these papers so we can get you started. I never had time to review the paperwork that later turned out to be the contract that contradicts all the lies she had just told.

I enrolled as client 23 July 2001, had six meetings with a career advisor, and did all that I was instructed to, produced a resume very similar to one I had already made myself. When I asked my advisor when he would find me job interviews, he said that was not his job, I stated that is not what Stacey had told me at all. So now, I am doing the same thing I did before I had met Haldane looking for jobs myself in the newspapers and on the Internet.

Further more when my resume was ready for my review it had spelling errors and was not formatted as I had wished. Online if you were to view my resume today it is all out of alignment and still not correct, a very professional job by my standards, how about you?

So now I'm at the point where I think what am I doing here wasting my time when I have already been doing all this myself prior to coming here.

On 15 August 2001 Stacey asks myself and another client to lunch where I tell her I'm not very pleased the way things are going and she offers "I don't want have any unhappy clients and would rather refund all your money if your not pleased". (A witness is available on request to her statement as the company representative stating the above).

So, on 16 August 2001 I discuss this with my wife and we decide I would be better off to seek employment on my own as I was doing before being a client Haldane.

On 17 August 2001, 1150 AM, I went to the Haldane office and asked for Stacey and informed her I will take her up on her offer of refunding all my money as previously stated. She now says she can not do that, as she does not have the authority to do so. This brings me to writing to you. I would feel obligated to pay something if I were not misled and lied to from the beginning. A disappointed veteran would not think you would have to use these tactics to make money.

This is the originator of the complaint, I have settled recieving a satisfactory refund, please remove this complaint. Thank-you for your help.

YOU ARE NOT HELPING ME NOW AND ACTING JUST AS DIFFICULT AS THE COMPANY I COMPLAINED AGAINST, I TOLD YOU I PARTIALLY TOOK THERE SERVICE SO SOME MONEY WAS DUE TO THEM AND I WAS HAPPY WITH THE SETTLEMENT. CALL ME IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ITS ME LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL EMAIL AND WHO IT CAME FROM ME. YOU DIDN'T ASK ME TO PROVE I WENT TO THE COMPANY WHEN I FILED THE COMPLAINT.
YOU HELPED ME NOW I WANT TO MOVE ON AND NOTHING MORE TO DO WITH HALDANE CASE SETTLED.

Your attitude and what you are saying you seem to be inconsiderate and only thinking of yourself. What about other unsuspecting consumers?

Why not just post the truth? After being ripped off, then you aggravating yourself for months, costing you time and money, Haldane finally squirmed when you filed your Rip-off Report, they settle with you for less money, now you go away with your tail between your legs, now your attacking us to remove your Rip-off Report so you will get paid?

ED, This is what the board and myself propose for a response to these ungrateful people.

Dear Mr. Cormier

I want to help you understand our position and why we can not remove your complaint from the website. By us not submiting to your demand, we do a great service here. I sympathize with your situation because I was taken advantage of by Bernard Haldane also. I am also a veteran and I could have warned you if I had spoken with you. But obviously, that was not possible. The next best thing is to post the complaint on the website. That's what I did and so did a whole bunch of other people.

If you and I had done some research first we would have found out what a problem there is. What if all those complaints once settled were taken off the site? No one would know there is a problem. If we did that we would be no better than the Better Business Bureau who hand out more favorable recommendations for businesses that pay a fee. This way consumers get a true picture of what they risk by doing business with a particular business.

I am glad we were able to help you with Bernard Haldane. You are very lucky. This company has an unusually high number of complaints. We know that they try to get the client to get the complaint removed as a condition of settlement and we will not capitulate to that demand. It may be favorable for you, but we negotiate for a massive number of people and may have to result to a lawsuit. This company is going down and it may take some time, but we have to consider the war not the individual battles.
