Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

When a Consumer who paid money for services, or for anything takes the time to write a letter to the BBB in Connecticut, they get nowhere in their complaint, AND the business in question has an "open microphone" to sling mud, falsely assasinate the Character of the Consumer, lie, deceive, etc., AND THE BBB DOES NOTHING TO ADDRESS THIS ABUSE!

In fact, they will ignore the lies of the hateful responses that are far below professional and often downright unlawful character and consumer abuse.

What the BBB in Connecticut WILL do is take the money of the BUSINESS and call the complaint "settled" or not allow such a legitimate complaint even appear at all.

Why? They are totally funded by the BUSINESSES that pay annual dues and NOT by the Consumer, so the more "members" of this privately held company the better for them...

After some investigation, it turns out that the BBB [also shown on 20/20 and other news shows] is entirely funded by these crooked businesses that violate ethical, moral and legal standards everyday of their existence and often times deserve to find themselves in jail, but the BBB covers for these abusive, mud-slinging companies and "close" the complaint!

Whatever happened to Mediation services?

Not offered. When you contact the BBB headquarters to complain about the Connecticut Branch, you are told that the BBB branches are much like a McDonald's chain store as they are FRANCHISE!

The "Owner" of such a Franchise can ignore their duty to fairly mediate disputes entirely because, after all, they bought the Franchise and will take as many Dues-paying companies as possible.

And get this- IF you are complaining about a company that is NOT already a dues-paying member [big mistake], they will ENCOURAGE THE NEW BUSINESS WITH AN A+ RATING IF THEY JOIN THE BBB!

I have seen this done several times.

A woman who worked in the Connecticut office named "Kristin" was the worst of this.

Would not listen to reasonable complaints at all if the business was to be a new member for them to get money paying dues from.

This is FRAUD.

All Consumers should see the BBB as a Franchise business that does nothing to protect Consumers.

Mediation Is NOT A Free Service - Hilarious

So far, all you're complaining about is that you get to tell your side of the story regarding your situation and the business gets to respond.  That's not much different than this site, except that people like me who know what I'm talking about - also get to contribute.  Whether you think the business was wrong to sling mud, or wrong to call you names is something no one cares about.  The value of complaining to the BBB is worth exactly what you paid for it - nothing.  It's really kind of old to complain about the BBB and most people know about the BBB.

But you come here complaining about BBB Mediation Services, which tells me you understand nothing about any of this.  Mediation Services aren't free.  Do you understand that the BBB will arrange at your cost for you and the other party to contract with a Mediator for their services.  Those are mediation services they talk about.  No BBB office performs arbitration and never purports to offer such services.  Now, the mediator the BBB will help you find is generally a lawyer who will listen to both sides, and the judgment the arbitrator renders is binding.  I believe arbitration, depending on the state, goes for a few thousand dollars, plus an additional fee for the BBB.  However, if the other party does not wish to enter into arbitration, then that's too bad for you because nothing can compel anyone to enter into arbitration.

The BBB is not committing fraud and it is not misrepresentation.  The fact people won't listen to you continuing to complain is also irrelevant and is worth exactly what you paid for it - nothing.  If you have a dispute and the other party won't enter into arbitration, then take the matter to court.  Otherwise, you're done.
