I have been taking my pets to the BHPAH for about 20 years. Since i moved about 40 min. away I have tried other vets but always come back to them. They may be a little pricey but I have never felt that money is their first priority. They are always very polite and friendly when we come in. In the exam room my dogs are checked very thoroughly.. When i had to put my dog to sleep about 2 years ago they were very patient and kind with me, even though I was hysterical. I did try a cheaper vet in the vineland area and it was dirty and they did not even have a scale in the room. When the took my dog out to get weighed (against my wishes) she tried to bite them and they pretty much told me i was not welcome back, that would not have happened if they did not take her away. We are planning a future move to the Ocean City area and i will probably still use the BHPAH.

This posting is almost entirely infactual. As a 24 hour emergency facility which accepts emergencies on a walk-in basis, all pets are triaged (assessed) immediately upon arrival. For walk-in emergencies, we require the emergency exam fee prior to the exam, as is communicated to owners on the phone prior to them arriving and on the forms they receive when they arrive. Our emergency exam fee is lower than most other 24 hour emergency facilities. If it is recommended that a patient be admitted to the hospital for any reason, owners are provided with an estimate which must be reviewed and signed prior to admitting the pet. For owners interested in billing options/payment plans, we can offer the convenience for clients to apply in office, over the phone or online for Care Credit (www.carecredit.com). Care Credit is a credit card which offers low interest payment plans, and is accepted at more than 100,000 Healthcare providers, including our facility. This is offered as a convenience only, and Black Horse Pike Animal Hospital in no way profits from or is affiliated with Care Credit. Lastly, all communication with owners is recorded into the patient's medical record. Our highly trained staff communicated clearly and professionally with this owner during Lucy's care every step of the way. We are disappointed to see that this courtesy and standard of care was not appreciated.
