Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This company/resort is a scam to get people to turn over large amounts of money by lies and promises.  I can't for the life of me figure out how this company hasn't been shut down.

I signed up through Pro Bass Shop for a 3 day stay in a yurt located in Shenandoah Crossing.  It cost $199.00 and if you participated in the 60 minute sales presentation you would receive $75.00 gift card.

Well that 60 minutes turned into 6 hours.  They would not take no for an answer.  You couldn't even leave to go and discuss with your spouse in private.  They tried to sell us a package that started around $50,000.00.  Then they came back and it was $28,000. Then $18,900. Then $12,000.  We told them we needed to discuss and go over our finances first before we could make a decision like that.  They kept telling us that if we walked out that none of the special offers would be available to us again.

We ended up buying a sampler package for $995.  You would be able to use all the resorts ammentities, pool, horseback riding, canoes, go carts all at no charge.  We were not allowed though to vacations during June, July & August.  My husband and I agreed and that is when our troubles began.

I purchased the sampler in the beginning of January 2010 and called in March to make my vacation arrangements.  The yurt that we wanted to stay in was only available in January right after New Years the following year.  They had none available the entire year.  Ended up having to stay in a cabin which ate up most of the points.  We were only able to book 3 nights because I coulnt have my kids missing anymore time from school.  We ended up having some points left over and well my husband and I get to stay in the yurt again in the heart of winter January 7, 8 & 9.

Now were getting ready for the October trip with my 6 kids and I call to reserve the horses (which they told me to call 2 weeks in advance) and well they do have horses available, but it is no longer a part of the package.  The horses now cost $20 per person.  I went back through my contract and of course can find nothing in there stating that the horses are a part of the contract.  Although, I remember the sales person and her supervisor telling me over and over that when you stay with us you have access to everything this resort has to offer at no charge.  I guess the canoes are going to cost now too.

What a joke this corporation is!!!!!!  This corporation is preying on the middle to low income people who would love 1 luxury vacation a year.  The rich would never deal with this company because the accomodations are 3 star at tops.  Nothing is luxurious about Bluegreen Resorts or the partner hotels/resorts they do business with.

The only positive outcome from this experience is that they only got me for $995.  I feel so sorry for the many people who got suckered into contracts and received nothing in return but a big headache.

Really Enjoy My Bluegreen Timeshare

#2Consumer Suggestion

Sat, January 21, 2012

I have been an owner in Bluegreen for a number of years. It's a great company and a real value if you enjoy traveling. My family is spoiled with Bluegreen Resorts; we feel hotel/motels are very substandard in comparison to BG Resorts. We have also stayed in other resorts (thru RCI as a part of the Bluegreen Owners package) and they have been nice but not close to Bluegreen Resorts in amenities.

Sales can be very high pressure no matter where you are. I have set through a number of BG sales presentations over the years. If they start with the high pressure bit, I stand firm, take my gift and go enjoy the resort. I have never made a purchase from a high pressure salesman, PERIOD.

END OF STORY.

I too have purchased the samplers packages you referred to. Never have I encountered the restriction you mentioned. I could have spent a week in Hawaii, Orlando or other exotic location. We choose a week in Phoenix
during the winter months and had a great time in the warm Arizona sun. If you dont have enough points, the purchase of sampler packages is a great way increase your vacation time without breaking the bank. Plus, in my case, I decided to purchase more points and was able to role the $995 into the cost of the package I purchased. The sampler package allowed me 9 months to decide if I wanted to purchase additional points.

I started with just a few points, not able to take a lot of vacations. So, I had to learn the system and discoverer many ways to get really cheap vacations to really nice places. Over time I added more points (as I could afford them) and now I have more points than I could ever use. I can either give away my points as gifts (that will make you popular in a hurry), or sell time to friends which helps pay maintance fees.

Bluegreen is hugely popular. Most of their resorts are full most of the time. Getting in during peak season requires planning and knowing how to use the system. We are going to the Florida Keys in July of 2013.

I will make reservation in August of this year in order to get in. If you want to make last minute reservation during peak season, you have to be flexible, lucky or pick a resort that no one wants to go to. I also have a week at The
Big Cedar Wilderness Club at Long Creek in Missouri for Memorial Day. That resort is awesome! Beyond 4 stars. Check it out sometime and if you are not impressed then your standard is Presidential, which Bluegreen also offers if
you desire.

There are many way to Vacation, I really hope you find a way to get the most out of your vacation dollar.
