The annual maintenance fees are almost $900.00 and they increase each year. This year, we didn't get the annual statment for the maintenance dues. We didn't think about it as we are hardly ever able to use the timeshare due to lack of availabililty so it is a bit like "out of sight, out of mind". We did get a collection call from their collection agency, Pinnacle who indicated we could settle our debt for a fee that was $400+ more than the current year's annual maintenance fees. I called Bluegreen and they wouldn't even discuss the situation with me even though I said I was willing to pay 2018 and 2019 fees to avoid any such reoccurrence. Bluegreen indicated I would need to work with Pinnacle.
We have never been sent to "Collections" for anything. When I indicated to Pinnacle, I was willing to pay the annual maintenance fees (due for 2018, this is in June of 2018), Pinnacle indicated I would have to pay approximately $1,300. They weren't willing to accept payment for the annual maintenance fees and a reasonable late fee of around $40. I use the term "reasonable" when related to their late fees loosely, as that would imply someone at Bluegreen cared enough to reach out to their customers via a phone call before turning them over to "Collections".
I'm not going to pay almost 50% more when I feel "robbed" about just paying the maintenance fees on something that can rarely be used.
