I'm not sure if Bob's subcontracts delivery companies in every state, but in Massachusetts they do.

I purchased a new table and chair set that was damaged during delivery. I also let them know when confirming the delivery that it would be easier if they backed up their truck down the street.  Needless to say I went outside to see this huge truck driving down the street - almost knocking down low cables and taking off several branches from a pine tree.

I called and was told they would deliver another table to replace the damaged one.  Again, I gave them instructions, telling them that a smaller truck would make the job much easier.  They called me back and told me that there was no smaller truck available in my area and they suggested I consider their "pickup" service. In the meantime, I went back to their showroom and purchased a sectional for my living room.  I asked them if they could deliver everything to me on the same day and was told they would do so.  This time, I told them to bring some dollies and possibly an extra person to get the job done.  I also let them know the easiest route to take.

On delivery day, the delivery men arrived in the same truck and parked out on the street. One of the delivery men commented that they do have smaller trucks - and saw it on the work order (I'm guessing dispatch decided not to send out a smaller truck).  They walked the replacement table up the street and into the building.  Once they did that, one of them stated that they would not deliver the sectional.  I told him that he could pull up next to the building and go through the garage, but he didn't.

When they left the building I was on the phone with their dispatch person, letting her know that I already suggested a shorter route to use to deliver the rest of my furniture.  She said she was going to contact their area manager and get the delivery done.

I continued to follow them out the door down the street with their dispatch person still on the phone.  I called for one delivery man to stop so I could show him where they could go to deliver it.  I pointed to the location and he said "where?" then proceeded to laugh hysterically in my face and say "no".  He turned around and continued walking down the street to his truck.  I shouted to him that he is a delivery person and that this is his job.  I also yelled that I found his behavior very rude and unprofessional.  I still had their dispatch person on the phone and reiterated his response.  I was enraged....I also feel it was demeaning and degrading and that if I was a man, I would have never received that type of response.

I called Bob's and told them what happened and filed a complaint with them as well as with the delivery service.  I also called my salesman to let him know how this was handled and how upset I was.

Bob's wanted to reschedule the delivery again.  I told them that I gave them two chances plus I could not afford to take any more time off from work.

Needless to say, I canceled the order and purchased new furniture from one of their competitors.  Bobs?  NEVER AGAIN.
