Recently I purchased a brand new Bravo Cargo Trailer rated by the company as having a 12,000 lb capacity. The second time out with this trailer I was hauling no more than half this capacity on my way to a work related event. The travel time for this trip was over five hours and as a prudent safety measure, I always stop early on in my trip to do a safety check on the trailer before I head out on the highway.  At this time I found  cracks in the A-frame hitch of my new trailer.  I obviously was concerned; however, had a schedule to keep and proceeded cautiously with intent of stopping for another safety check shortly.  At the second safety check I saw the cracks were getting larger, turning into splits.

From the highway I was on, I was able to locate a company specializing in frame and chassis repair nearby to weld and temporarily repair the cracked hitch.  This company found the hitch was near failure.  Upon further inspection, they said the material used to construct the hitch was inadequate, far too thin for the capacity trailer I was told I was purchasing.

Based upon what we saw, it was very apparent that the hitch was on the verge of complete failure and could have potentially broken off prior to my reaching my destination.  If this happened it could possibly have resulted in not only harm to myself and my equipment, but to other innocent bystanders as well.

When I returned from my trip, I contacted my dealer who told me to contact the manufacturer. Initially everyone was eager and told me they would make things right.  Eventually they replaced the hitch and were reportedly going to reimburse me for my direct costs associated with the temporary fix.  I have yet to see any of this money and it has been over two months.

Additionally, Bravo was unwilling to provide me with the assurances I wanted with regards to the capacity of the trailer or any compensation for the fact that the ordeal resulted in me incurring indirect expenses associated with the delay in my trip resulting from the time it took to get the hitch patched.

I am very disappointed in Bravo Trailers. As stated directly off their website:  No other trailer manufacturer will address your needs as quickly or as fairly as Bravo. Satisfied customers are Bravo Trailers' greatest asset. Whether it is a parts order or warranty claim, we will exceed your expectations. We believe true value comes from the overall ownership experience. Our commitment to deliver the best steel-framed, enclosed cargo trailer and motorsports trailer at a great price, and take care of our customer, is steadfast.

They were quick to sell me a trailer which obviously did not match their stated specifications and take my money; but when it came time to make things right when there was an issue with their product, they did not live up to their claims of caring for their customers. Consequently I cannot recommend Bravo Trailers to anyone.

Buyer Beware.

I have had several bravo trailer in the past and was shocked to see this story and the pictures. First I have to say that this report seems to be a hoax maybe a disgruntled employee . Take a close look at the pictures and you can clearly see the welds on the crossmember are not professional welds by any means also you can see circles on the inside on the tongue with welds inside them . I have never seen that on any manufactured trailer .Also notice they did not take any pictures of the whole trailer or the data plate to show that this is in fact a bravo trailer . I believe that the trailer in the picture is home made by someone who obviously cannot weld and I don’t buy this story at all .

Warren,

I want to personally apologize for the problems with your Bravo trailer. We strive to build the best commercial quality products and back them with exceptional customer service. Occasionally things do go wrong which clearly happened with your trailer. Bravo Trailers went above and beyond its warranty commitments to make you happy and I am disappointed you were not satisfied with the service you received.

I want to present ALL the facts so potential trailer buyers can make a fair evaluation about Bravo Trailers and how we support our customers.

  1. Your trailer broke and it was our responsibility to repair it.
  2. Bravo Trailers sent a welding supervisor with over 20 years of experience from its Bristol Indiana facility to Bravo’s Vermont dealer, Perfection Motorsports to repair your trailer. We chose to do this so we could evaluate your trailer and make sure this critical repair was done correctly.
  3. Perfection Motorsports picked up your trailer from and delivered it to your home after the repair was completed on time.
  4. You were paid $544.93 for your out of pocket expenses.
  5. There have been no additional issues with your A-frame hitch.

Bravo Trailers takes great pride in its products and how we treat our  customers. Unfortunately things do go wrong, please judge us on how we handled it. The entire team took Warren’s problem very seriously and we have learned from it.
