Builtmor Homes Inc, Cheri Brown And Gary Nicholson WATCH OUT!!!This Builder comes off as caring (Cheri Brown & Gary Nicholson) people who but they took over 1,300,000 and never finished our house, & persuaded the subs not to finish, they are evil people!! Fredericksburg Virginia

We contracted with Builtmor on a cost plus contract for 1,300,000 to build our handicapped accessible home for our disabled son. They came off as very caring, so we thought they were good people, they come off that way. But when they kept asking for more money we asked to see invoices as stated in thier contract as a full disclosure builder.
When we refused to give them anymore money until they gave us a job cost, they packed up and left the job. It was then that we contacted the bank and realized that they had over 300,000 of unspent money.
They have refused to return any of it, claiming they are entitled to it even thought they have recieved their builders fee in addition to the 300,000.
They have also instructed their subs not to work with us to finish our house or to give us any supplies that we have paid for. They came to the job site on Thankgiving Day when they knew we would not be there and harrassed our subcontrators.
They pulled our gas permit. And encouraged thier subs to file lien waivers on our property. They are evil people. We have had to hire an attorney but they kept slipping thru the cracks while our attorney bills are going up.

Builtmor Homes Inc has come thru as a great builder. They We have mutually settled our dispute. Unlike many other builders I have heard horror stories about (many on this site) we both came they have come to the table and worked this situation out to our mutual satisfactionmade right our complaints. And while any contractor can build a house, its only those that stand up and work through things with their customers fix the problems that do arise that are truly trust worthy builders. It hass been a long, a strenuous and emotional journey for us to build a handicapped accessible home for our 24 year old son who suffers from cerebral palsy. We have tried to make the building of this house something he could have some independence in for the rest of his life, and making that happen has been an awesome task. Builtmor homes took on this task and though there were differences, they have made them right. Hats off to BUILTMOR, Ms. Brown and Mr. Nicholson for continuing to work through these issues and getting this resolveddoing the right thing!
