Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

It was friday night 2/14/14 and my cousin just flew in from El Salvador for her 3rd visit within 5 months. As we bar hopped Hollywood Blvd, We began at Loaded and next stop would be Cabo Cantina. She had already visited this establishment prior as we found a place to unwind before heading to Blue Monday ( Boardners) months ago.

To my surprise she was denied by the bouncer due to her foreign I.D.  The bouncer immediately turned us away and while I was a bit astonished to such decision; she had already made her research and contacted embassy regarding her I.D and being able to attend events in LA. My cousin is 25 years old and was no stranger to the states. She had a valid drivers license which states her birthday, name, and provinence to where she is from.

Cabo Cantina at that point was now a debate not an establishment as to where we wanted to end our night. They began saying it was the LAW and it was restricted. The law does not say no foreign adult visiting the US with a VALID I.D cannot be attended to. If it was true then why did Loaded, Caseys, and Boardners all allow us to enjoy our night? In addition my cousin had ALREADY shared a few drinks months before at Cabo on a monday night. She was in town for a whole week and Cabo Cantina was the ONLY bar that denied her due to her valid id. After researching myself; according to the state liquor control board any acceptable form of I.D could be of drivers license, ID card, permit issued by any state OR province. The staff needs to be corrected and discplined and not throw the words of the "LAW" without knowing ANY fact to it.

As my annoyance grew and I began debating in front of a crowd. The guy now changed his story from it being a law to it being a decision by the bouncer. Needless to say not only did Cabo ruin a fun night but they also lost 3 customers. The bouncer at Caseys accepted us as we walked in with no questions asked and as we drank our drinks; the bouncer from cabo cantina walked in and I personally wanted to verbally correct him again but at this point my cousin was trying to try and enjoy her night again.

Cabo Cantina is such a disrespecting vibe. Not only did that bouncer turn me away from ever coming back here again. Iam enouraging myself to get this point across to management because I do work for a management company for a high end restaurant in LA and Iam in disbelief at the customer service we recieved. According to yelp; this location needs a high dosage of great service as well.
