Well, where shall I start. Capital One "A Cutting-Edge Company for the Information Age". "One with the Commnity". That's the best slogan i've seen. What a joke. Have you read the bios of Richard D. Fairbank, Chief Executive Officer, and Nigel W. Morris, chief Operating Officer? Well, by all appearences, this is a company for the people, at least until you need the "Payment Protection Plan" that you signed up for through Capital One, to kick in.

First of all, it took what seemed like an act of congress to get it approved, even after submitting copies of unemployment checks and vouchers. The first step in the runaround. After the US Congress finally approved the plan, by the way, that i've been paying for, everything was suppose to be OK. WRONG!!!!...

I begain with an account that was up to date when i became unemployed, and ended with an account that is to date, over $100.00 over the limit, because of a combination of slow payments and a lack of purported payments by my "Payment Protection Plan". Call Capital One customer service, they transferred me to the collections.

Collections representatives, including supervisors/managers said it was not their problem. I'm thinking, wait, you are Capital One, you sold me the plan. Response, sorry it is not our problem. Lastly, I could not get through to the CEO or COO. Their voice mail does'nt work. Supprise, supprise. What a well oiled machine. Every one appears to be working in unison, per their guidelines. Totally contrary to what you read when you pull up info on the company on the web. "One with the Community". Ha ha ha!!!!

Minimum Payment Insurance

Dennis, I am curious if the credit protection is going to pay your entire overlimit balance? According to my understanding of the credit protection, they agree to pay the minimum payment each month. First, it appears clear that if the payment is not received in time, that Cap One should not charge late fees. At the very least, you should have a claim against the insurance provider. But, considering the representations made when you "purchased" the insurance, Cap One should also be responsible. Second, if Cap One includes the overlimit balance as part of the minimum payment, then should the insurance cover that, too?
