For the past three months I have been getting credit card offers in my sons name. He is only 13 years old! I tried opting out so many times but I still get offers in his name. How the **** did they get his name??!!! I am tired of this and I want it to stop now!!!

Thank you Robert for the advice. Haven't seen anymore offers lately. I will wait and see what will happen next. I did find out where they got his name from. He tried to sigh up for PayPal credit to buy an item he wanted. He was not approved and they sent his name off.

This is exactly why it is very important for parents to monitor their kid's activities.  Not only that but instruct and warn their kids on filling out things because they are being offered something for "free".

You see Capital One didn't just pick your son's name out of a hat, nor did they get his name from his Jr. High year book.   But they did get his name from somewhere.

Some of the most common sources are that he fillout out something and that company "sold" his name to Capital One or a Marketing Firm.  These companies build up their lists by offering something "free" in exchange for information.  Perhaps it was a free magazine, a free burger at a local fast food resturant.

Other ways are through Social Media and the various "Apps".  He could have unknowingly put his name and address out there, and again it was sold to various Marketing Firms.

Now, there is a bit more troubling of a possiblity.   Another way credit card companies send out these letters is from the Credit Reporting Agencies themselves.  It isn't a full credit "pull" but just basic information.  In this case it is possible that your son already has a credit file.  It would be unlikely that he would have opened up credit(but possible and you do hear of teenagers doing this), it would be more likely in this case that he is now a victim of Identity Theft.  So it may be a good idea just for a comfort factor to review his credit reports.  You can do this for FREE by going to the following site.
