Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
OK folks, I've seen enough. I thought I had problems with Capital One... but after reading so many reports about them here I've decided my issues are minor compared to others who are unhappy with this joke of a company. Here's what I recommend you do:

Call their main switchboard at (703) 720-1000 and ask for Catherine West. She's apparently the new president of the company. If the receptionist get's snippy with you, then ask for Todd Ambrose, her "executive assistant". Just tell the receptionist that Todd is expecting your call.

You should keep calling until you get through to Todd. When you do, you tell him you want action and you want Ms. West to be personally involved with your problem. Tell Todd you DON'T want some underling to handle your problem. Tell Todd you will not let some so-called "executive staff member" to handle your issue. Believe me, those people are nothing more than "policy parrots" who are only capable of reading and quoting from policy manuals.

If you get threatened with Capital One shutting down your account because of your repeated calls, be sure to report that here on this website. In fact, after reading so many other reports here, I'm wondering why ANYBODY would want to keep their Capital One account open in the first place!

Call them, folks. Tired of the hassle? Call them and hassle THEM until they relent. Take names. Take numbers. Report back here and keep the pressure up.

Calling CEO at home Stopped HARASSMENT!

Brent: My call to the former CEO's wife at her home, when I got two consecutive calls from Capital One, was to advise her husband that the company was in violatin of Federal Law. I also let her know that for each "violation call" that I received, including the 6:30AM call I got, and EVERY cell call I received (which was unauthorized), I would be calling each officer at home, to "advise that they were in violation of Federal Law". My call was quite civil, and the lady was very courteous. I taped the call for my protection though, knowing that you get as much "justice as you can PURCHASE". As a direct result of that call to her home, Capital One put my name on the "do not call" list. It worked, and wasn't counterproductive. I'm working my butt off to pay this thing, which was "small" before their "created fees", but the reason I was ever behind was a medical malpractice, which took years to recover from, during which time, I did not use the card! I was 100% totally disabled for that time period. I've been in court (discovery also) since 1/00, trying to collect my "uninsured motorist" and "med/mal" claims, since a cop (uninsured in NC) T-boned my car, causing my permanent nerve damage, crippling, and disability, diagnosed at Mayo. I've had to produce 2200 pages of "medical records" and documents from every medical provider I've seen in my entire life, to keep these cases alive. In one, I've been required to produce the same docs 3-4 times!!! In other words, the Doctor's intent was to bankrupt me by preventing me from working, so that I would "go away". The crippling is for life. The medical debts are only covered by Blue Cross 33% because they are so extensive, and exceed the "limits" set by BC/BS. Call the CEO's home each time anyone gets multiple calls, cell hone calls, or before 9AM, after 9PM calls. Document each call, and file an OTC, as well as FTC complaint against Capital One, naming each officer you "informed" of the wrongdoing by your calls to him!! It works!

not sure calling executives at home is such a good idea... here's why:

I understand the anger and frustration from the person who resorted to calling Capital One executives at home, but I think when you do that you're stooping to their level. If I were that person, I'd stick to contacting their offices, and when you do that, just remember to keep your calls rational and never, ever make any threats. That's counter-productive and it will likely resort in more problems for you. My best advice? Work your butts off to pay your bills on time. Sacrifice, pinch pennies, do whatever it takes. Sooner or later you can deal with respectable credit card companies who don't have the bad attitude that seems common among firms like Capital One. When you've got damaged credit, they've got you over a barrel. Resolve to manage your finances so that you don't have to stoop to dealing with people like Capital One or the other fly-by-night credit hustlers. You can evetually tell them to kiss off... just not at their homes.

Call Capitol One CEO @ HOME!!

Hi All! I got tired of the 6:30AM, yes I said 6:30AM collections callers, who were persistent, and called on my "unauthorized" cell phone, while I wasn't in the states! Five days after receiving a chunk payment, Capital One started calling me 2-5 times/day, and threatening, as well as "scolding" me for having "charged" (root canal) what I couldn't afford! They did this on MY CELL PHONE, which number they obtained from my answer machine, intended for my business customers to contact me! I've been getting one-two calls/day since then!!! Want to find out where teh CEO and all other officers live, and their home numbers?? I called the former CEO's wife this am at 8:20AM, and advised her that I would be calling her at 6:30AM when I got Capital One calls. I plan to call each officer's HOME, every time I get a call from their offices, which I consider harassment, rather than a debt collection. And, debt collection will not be more than once/week and then, on a LAND LINE! Check the net for the names of the officers. Get middle initials, and bios re. former employers. This comes in handy! Next, do research in Va., NY, MD., RI, DE. for the first initial and last name of these persons at www.whitepages.com, OR go to a pay site, and get the MORE STUFF, www.knowx.com. Search for their homes and #s. Then do a reverse look-up of the number you just found. It shows all other phone numbers at that address. Then do a look up of the address alone. That shows the spouse's name, and any children who have phones! Verify the right person by typing in the city of the address you found in the search, and add GIS , Tax Assessor, Tax Administrator, etc. This will bring up the County tax web site where they own property. Plug in their names. Ta Da! Now check the "tax value" of the residence. That will tell you if you have one of these millionaire Buzzards or not! After tax records are located, try DEEDS for the came county: Registrar of deeds, DEEDS County, etc.... Then plug in first initial and last name. That will show all properties owned/sold by same party, and spouse's name! Also shows banks that financed the property!!! Guess which one probably did??????? Now, give them a call every time you get a Capital One Harassment Call! I plan to continue, and I also "tape record" all calls so that they cannot be "mis-represented" by those well-connected buzzards as "threats". "Good Morning Mr. Fairchild. I just wanted go wake you like Capital One did me this morning at 6:30AM. Of course, you do know that a call at that time of morning is in violation of FEDERAL LAW, FTC, don't you???? My call isn't a "collections", so I'm not regulated by the FTC. I just wanted you to know that your employees awoke me AGAIN at 6:30AM. Good Bye,
