Rick, I am a consumer law paralegal - stat damages are $1K per filing. The language in the FDCPA if quite clear and if they called you that many times, get a record of it from your phone company and there is your prima facia case. Run like the wind big guy and eat em up and spit out the bones like toothpicks.
