The Dealership can choose what vehicles it works on once they are out of warranty. Period. End of discussion.

I am only providing this information because I have been exposed to both sides of the spectrum as both a consumer and an employee in the car industry. I am a previous customer of Carl Hogan. I purchased my vehicle from them in 2002. Overall my experience with the company was great. I can't speak for the repair company that fixed the vehicle presented in this case, but I can speak from the stand point of the car industry and consumer. When I purchased my car I didn't get the original vehicle I was approved for, because the bank rejected the approval. As a customer I was upset, but now I understand. That it was the bank and the dealership trying to assist me with the purchase of a new vehicle. Also after I got my new vehicle I had a problem with the Oxygen Sensor. Carl Hogan replaced it for free. Everyone there was generous to me in my experience, and they have since followed up with correspondences even though I've relocated. On the other hand. I now work for a dealership, and I see things from a totally different prospective. You can find some people that will lie to you, and you will find others that will try to assist you. As a customer you have to be wise and discern which is which. You guys may not get a new car, but if the company made some adjustments to your car that should not have been made they should fix and repair them without cost no matter how many miles are on the vehicle. Also as far the people getting fired the companies may need to re-visit courses on ethics. Also any policy can be changed, but the company is looking at what cost to them. Customers are any companies' asset as well as its employees. Do the right thing people. To the couple in this case pray and let God be your direction. Let him fight this battle for you. I found that many of the dealerships use manipulation to get customers to purchase vehicles as well as service centers will fix one thing and tamper with something else. It's just like going to the doctor and them asking what's bothering you today. You diagnosis yourself. Some guys in the service center are just guessing. Again put it in God's hands and He will work it out.

I believe the complaint is valid. A delaership should not be able to screen the vehicles they choose to service. If they do they could say that a one year old car with 36,000 miles is high mileage, because the auto industry says it is. If a person drives a vehicle into the dealership and it is a make they sale and service then the delaership should service it. If it doesn't then the automobile manufacturer they represent should take firm steps to correct the dealership. Otherwise the dealership might as well post a sign stating we do not service any vehicle, we only sell them.

If Carl Hogan doesn't want to work on an 11 year old vehicle with 170,000 miles on it, that ought to be his right. The second guy was fool enough to do so and look what it got him. You post is slightly hard to follow. We're back to "my wife's truck was running fine before they worked on it". I hear that line all the time. Then why in the heck did you have them work on it? Then, "our regular mech". If he was your "regular mech", Why wasn't he doing the work? As for replacing your wife's vehicle "at THERE expense", "at no cost, the SKIES the limit...". What's the vehicle worth? A grand at most? Too bad old Chuck isn't a union member. Then it wouldn't matter how incompetant he is. He wouldn't have to worry about his job. The unions have done soo well with ford and gm. Keep up the good work.

I think the upshot of the complaint is that Carl Hogan refused to work on William's truck because they know with that many miles, a GM truck will just give one problem after another. And they also pegged William/Vanessa as the type that will blame every problem that comes up in the future on the fact that they worked on an UNRELATED problem in the past, and expect them to fix it for free. They have the right to refuse to work on any truck, unless it is under warranty. They referred Vanessa to another place, which did some work on the truck but now for the reason I mentioned above, William/Vanessa now consider that place a ripoff because the truck is just giving one problem after another like an old GM will. For some reason William/Vanessa trust their "regular mech" opinion about the truck but didn't have him or her work on it in the first place. At this point you will be money ahead in the long run to replace the truck, as it is old, made by GM, and worn out. And that is what America is all about. They make a truck that lasts about 150,000 miles, so you'll buy another one later.

I really should stay away from this complaint. I am very doubtful that this is a real complaint. The one person that responded only asked that you be more specific with your issues, so that he may understand more. His opening sentence was that he had sympathy for you. Your response was to go off on a tangent and personally attack him. So sad. I have been in the customer service industry service for a very long time. It is a rough business to be in. I like what I do and intend to continue. There is that one type of customer that everyone tries to avoid. You are that type of customer. It is the customer that demands the termination of an employee. They let it be known that the employee being fired is the only thing that will satisfy the customers grievance. If that employee is fired and without a job to support their family, then the ex-employee will now be more miserable than the customer. Then, the customer will be happy because they made someone more miserable than themself. In this case, you want two people to be terminated. You must be going for a two-for-one special. Poor Dottie. All she did was tell you that it is their company policy to not work on high-mileage vehicles. It is not her policy but the policy of the people that own the business she works at. For passing on the owners policy, you demand that she be terminated? Wouldn't you have more satisfaction if the owner was fired? After-all, it is the owners policy. Then you will be happy. Maybe they say your vehicle as a problem child and wanted to avoid the headaches. It did them no good. Are you angry at them for not working on your truck? Not giving you the opportunity to post grievances about their work? Nearly 3 months after Marties Service Cent works on your Jimmy, the rods are knocking on your truck. Says its not so. You have a Jimmy with 170k miles and the engine is bad. Along with the two employee firings, you are demanding that you be given a vehicle of your choice. That there be no limit on the value of the vehicle that you choose. How about a Porsche Cayenne. That is the vehicle you most deserve. Since you are wanting a 2-for-1 termination of employees. Then you should be demanding a his and her set of matching Cayenne's. See, all is better now. Before you start, I do happen to shop at Walmart. On with your attacks. I do have thick skin so it will only humor me and be a waste of time for you. I could pass on my place of employment so that you can demand that I be terminated. Whatever butters your bread.

Regardless, your complaint is with Marty's. Carl Hogan can, and did decide not to work on your vehicle. That's there choice. Nobody at Hogan's owes you anything much less someone's job.

You know if you have A Major in English yes I can understand that you don't get what is saying because you are for ripping individuals off and another thing you shop at WALMARTS also, you support child slavery and unsafe conditions in the sweat shops where ten year old children puts toys together, where you buy for your grandchildren. Plus, WALMARTS drives true AMERICAN made products out and you buy CHINA made products. Oh! let me tell something GMC and the BBBMS thinks differ from what you think. Have good day I'm a union worker that frights for your wage increasment and for safety on the job where you work at, oh! I forgot you work in four walls and don't see beyond your nose on what AMERICA is all about.

I sympathize that you had problems, but I found it almost impossible to follow along with what you were trying to say. There was no punctuation, lots of misspelling and terrible syntax. I'm still confused as to what your problem is.
