CBCS - Resurgent Capital Services Received a ***Settlement Offer *** for 50% of account balance seems like a Phony Letter. CBCS Ohio
Just like other reports on here about this same issue, I received a letter that seems very suspicious. I have never heard of CBCS or Resurgent Capital Services, both of these seem to be collection agencies.
The letter is asking to settle a debt for 50% of the balance. I don't know where this bill came from. They claim my current balance is $184.67 and want to settle for $92.34
I watch my credit VERY carefully, I'm trying to increase my credit score so I can refinance my home and I pay all my bills ontime. I don't think this is a legitime charge. Will have to do some investigating. I will write back to them disputing the charges, unless they provide proof, I won't pay them a peny.
If you receive the same letter, be careful, it looks like a scam!
