Jeremy, as a Loan Officer and someone who disputes credit issues for a living I have some questions regarding how this company dropped your Fico scores by 80 points? For one, if they did a credit check on you, you there will only be an inquiry showing on the bureaus that they pulled. Some Credit Card companies may only request one, some two, and rarely all three. Secondly, how did they ruin your credit? There has to be other issues happening right now for your scores to have dropped so many times. A lot of times, your real estate agent, the loan officer, and the lender themselves will each pull reports to establish your worthiness for lopan qualifications. You are allowed 3 inquiries within a 90 day period before it starts to affect your scores. Even if you go over that, you will have to have about 15 or more inquiries within that time frame, and even then you aren't going to drop that significantly. Thirdly, you can contact the credit bureaus to "Opt-Out" on pre-screening offers, which do not affect your credit in any way, as no one sees those inquiries except for you. This information is not revealed to anyone that has requested you reports for permissable purposes. This "Opt-Out" lasts, I believe 2 to 3 years, before you have to sign up for it again.
