Ramada,another old line brand name purchased by Cendant Corp, is named in an article on page 32 of the AARP Bulletin of july-august 2006,saying that Ramada hotels in Florida implied far more than they delivered. Cendant's Ramada Worldwide is aware of consumer complaints but claims no responsibility since these Florida hotels are franchises.It seems resonable to assume that the"franchisor"parent co has considerable power, either contractual or implied,to bring it's franchisees into line, but AARP's article makes no mention of any offer to even try, or to provide restitution to consumers for actual losses, from Ramada Worldwide or Cendant Corp.
