Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Who do they think they are? I've seen the movie Matchstick Men and I TRIED to call their "customer service" number and got no answer. Well immediately afterwards I went down to my bank and told them to put a stop payment on my account. So what if I had to pay a small fee to do this. APPARENTLY it's all gonna be worth it in the long run... So thank you Nicholas Cage for making us aware of how easy it is to scam someone.

Stop payment may not work

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, April 21, 2004

There are other complaints in your database about this company under CETSS and Consumer Electronics Technology Services. There are also three complaints against them with the New York Better Business Bureau. They have never responded to any of these complaints. One complaint indicates that they are able to avoid the stop payment orders by not including the check number. It is also possible for them to split the dollar amount to avoid stop payments for the exact amount the consumer is expecting. I filed a complaint with the FTC against this company today. The complaint number is 4333583. They suggested that the only way to make sure they don't charge you is to close your account. My bank indicates that they can contest the charges if they do manage to get processed provided I catch it right away. I requested that they lower my overdraft protection to $0 and will keep my balance low so they cannot draft the account. Remember that they can try to send the charges through much later so stopping them may be difficult. Other complaints indicate that they sent only vouchers instead of the promised products (2003 models of: Gateway 2gig PC (128 memory, DVD, 15" monitor, Windows), Nokia color phone, Sony video camera, Dish PC with 3 mos. free service, $1000 Internet shopping). They claim the products are last year's models and are being used as tax write-off's to promote the companies involved and that they are charging you for the sales tax and S&H only. When specifically asked they indicated that there were no contracts required for Internet service, the phone was not activated and did not require a contract and the Dish came with 3 mos. service and did not require a contract to receive the trial period. Contact information for this company is given in another complaint: Consumer Electronics Technology Services 100 Walnut Street D15#146 City Champlain New York, NY 12919 (888) 577-4432 So far they have answered that number only once when I dialed it repeatedly on 4/21/04. Just before 9 EST a woman's voice answered briefly pretending she was a recording indicating that they were closed and to call back during business hours and then hung up. It is now 10:12 a.m. CST and they still do not answer.
