Charlton Heston's Bible Tapes (audio) ripoff Jersey City New Jersey
Shortly after September 11th we were watching TV when a commercial about the Charlton Heston Bible videos came on. We felt moved to call and order the four tapes and did so. The sales person asked if we would like to order four audio tapes also. The price was reasonable (around $30, as I recall) and so I added them to my order.
In December, we began receiving mailings containing two tapes at a time; four in all. Each mailing had an invoice that was marked, "this is not a bill" and there was no figure shown. Wow! Some bonus!
In January, our credit card bill arrived and we had charges of slightly over $90 for the "bonus" audio tapes. We called the company and told them we had not ordered the tapes nor authorized the charges. The lady apologized and said they would take them off.
It is now April and the charges remain. We notified our credit card company (MBNA) within the time allowed to dispute charges. Still they remain.
We don't want to see anyone else "suckered" by this Holy-sounding rip-off.
