1)Yes, they made it very clear I needed to book on the same airline and if you'll note I called the airline to rebook at one point because Cheaptickets instructed me to and the airline had no record of the original tickets supposedly issued by Cheaptickets. No they DON'T differ that much economy class from Seattle to Las Vegas. Maybe first class to economy class you'd see that much difference but not economy class. 2)Yes, I do realize it's the AIRLINE'S change fee I didn't ask nor expect them to waive the change fee. I knew when I had to cancel the original tickets that I would have to pay an airline change fee. They made it clear in the email they sent after canceling the original tickets that it was the airlines change fee AND the Customer Service Agent made it very clear it was the airlines change fee. 3)Yes I told them I had to cancel due to an emergency and they stated then there would be a $100.00 per ticket Airline Change fee (charged by the airline) and a $50.00 Cheaptickets fee added to the price of a new reservation, see the math portion of my report, and that my credit was good for 1 year, I tried to rebook well within the 1 year time frame. 4)Yes, I was well inside the "time frame" Note the requested dates of travel as noted in the report. I don't think you understand what the Customer Service Agent was telling me, maybe I can explain it better. She said since I had canceled tickets this would be a "Change reservation" and I could not get the cheaper NEW reservation prices on the same flights (The Customer Service Agent agreed I could get the same flights cheaper, if I just booked it and did NOT use the flight credit). So they sucker you in with low priced fares, that they may or may not had actually ticketed through the airline, note the airline could find NO record of my original tickets and I had the record locater number as well as ticket numbers which were given me by cheaptickets. I hope you work for a more reputable travel company than Cheaptickets because they are BAD NEWS.

I have some questions about your credit and the new flights you wanted..... 1) When you went online and found the new flights, were they with the same airline as the original? Most customers don't know that you can only exchange using the same airline. You said that you found the flights online for $509, but the Cheaptickets agents quoted over $2000 - this discrepancy could have been due to each of you looking at different airlines' prices (yes......they do differ that much) 2) I assume that you realize that the $200 was the AIRLINE'S change fee......not Cheapticket's change fee. Like all 3rd party agencies, they don't have the ability to waive that fee. 3) Did you tell the original Cheaptickets agent that you had to cancel due to an emergency. Most (but not all) airlines will allow for leniency because of an emergency. 4) What date did you call to make your new reservation? Most discount airline tickets require a specific timeframe for purchase (60-90 days before travel). It could be that you fell inside that timeframe and that's why your new flights were more expensive than the original. Just some things to keep in mind. Yes, I do work in travel but not for Cheaptickets.
