I would like for all potential buyers of horses and ponies to be aware that Chris Keller of Rock Hill, SC is fradulently posting on the internet horses and ponies for sale. She is listing on different websites such as Dreamhorse.com, Horsetopia,Equine.com and others. The ads are very misleading and indeed are so far from the truth. I purchased a horse from her last Friday (March 23, 2012). I travelled 8 hours to Hickory, NC to pick the horse up. I was met by someone other than Chris Keller, a woman that I did not get her name. I was given her paperwork of which a copy of a coggins that indeed did not match up with the horse that I bought. I was told that the original coggins would be mailed to me. A week later, I have not received anything. To boot, I have called Chris Keller numerous times for simple questions such as what type of bit to use on this mare for she is somewhat hard to bridle and fights the bit. No return calls whatsoever. I purchased this horse sight unseen and did not ride her prior to purchasing. Dumb mistake. I did however get pictures of her in advance. I explained to Chris Keller that I was purchasing this horse for my 6 year old daughter to do walk/trot and basically to learn how to ride. Her ad sparked my attention and Chris Keller was very nice and helpful at this point.She explained to me that she had owned this horse for 6 years and that she rides on the A-Circuit and this horse would not suit in the hunters on this level. She posted a picture on Dreamhorse that was not the horse that I got and after involving the vet in Ohio to investigate the copy of the coggins that I have they had no record of Chris Keller whatsoever. In fact, just miles down the road from the vets office is an auction for killer horses. Sugarcreek Livestock Auction of which this vets office performs the coggins. Chris Keller fudged the coggins papers that was sent with the mare. She or someone she knows purchased this mare from Sugarcreek back in January 2012 as a killer horse. To really top this off, I put my 6 year old daughter on her just leading her around and the mare did fine, but when my older daughter who is 23 rode her she acted like she had never had a bit in her mouth and was very hot and too much to handle. I plan on keeping this mare and putting the time in her, but beware....Chris Keller is not truthful. She will not return calls and I wonder how she lays her head down at night. I am so thankful that I found out about this horse before I cut my little girl loose on her alone. Could have been a nightmare! I will in the future do my homework from now on!

This lady has gone by several names and I think that she is in with a group of horse trader people. I have a report filed as well as I was ripped off by her too under a Margaret Haskill name. I bought a pony site unseen, did not ride it first, got it home, was lame, rode ok but still was not what was described and I ended up giving her away.
She makes them sound too good to be true and they are. I picked mine up at Reapsville Road which is just a few miles away from the Vale horse sale in Vale NC. She uses different cities, names, and I guess a new place now to pick them up. It is awful to know that there are people out there like this but there are and always will be.
I NEVER will buy a horse site unseen and I ALWAYS ride it first to make sure it is what was described or I don't buy it. I actually finally found the one for me and am not looking for one anymore but I still look at what is out there and there are so many scammers and dishonest people out there it is unreal. It would be nice if something could be done about them.
Glad no one got hurt, especially your daughter. Read my dispute about Margaret Haskill and Bobby. I picked the mare up from him and I ended up with a false coggins COPY as well and my vet checked it out. I hope this lady burns in you know where. I think the Devil would probably throw her back. Awful, just awful.

Unfortunately you have been scammed by the same people that myself and many others have dealt with. Although the names they used for me were different...which is what they do so its difficult to track them...sounds like they are still at it. Im so glad to hear that your daughter has not gotten hurt, that is a plus. Like you said, I dont understand either how they can sleep at night. Myself and others that have been scammed are keeping our eyes open to the sale ads...with your help we can help others from going through the same experience we have. Hopefully our warnings can save others from making the same mistake we have. Keep in touch...
