This is a sham.
As you can see in the video traffic is turning, the "don't walk" signs are illuminated and it is completely safe to turn right on this red light. A $158.00 fine for an out of state driver means the odds of returning for a court date are slim.
This is NOT about public safety, this is about generating revenue. The City of Florida City stoops low to feed the city coffers.
FedUp.

Typical responses from someone who GOT BUSTED FOR DOING SOMETHING WRONG!!!!! Sorry but YOU as the driver are responsible for knowing ALL of the laws in the state YOU wish to travel in. YOU are responsible no matter HOW unfair YOU THINK it is. Maybe instead of blaming everyone else YOU should work on YOUR DRIVING SKILLS instead of putting up baseless accusations all because YOU are a poor driver. WHY is it so difficult for YOU to accept that YOU screwed up?? YOU are NOT perfect. YOU are human and make mistakes.

Its as obvious as the rising sun. Turning right on red is allowed PROVIDED the driver comes to a COMPLETE STOP before turning right on red. You're upset because YOU were caught not doing this. YOU were the driver. YOU were the person in control of the car. YOU were the person who decided to NOT obey the rules of the road. Grow up and stop blaming everyone else for what Y-O-U did!
NO RIPOFF HERE -- Complainer failed to follow the rules of the road and blames everyone else for his/her failure.

That is the point. That is exactly why it is a "Rip Off". There should be a right turn arrow at that intersection. It is an intentional trap to snare suckers. That camera is there for the purpose of generating revenue. Thank you for being upfront and honest about your views of American citizens "revenue generators". I hope my money is invested wisely. The city should take down that camera and install a green right turn arrow. Have a nice day!! Fed

Its not "turn right on red". Its "turn right on red AFTER STOPING"! Revenue generator? All citations are! If you don't want to be the person who "donates" to the revenue stream then you follow the traffic rules...plain and simple.

Was the intersection signed for "No Turn on Red"? If turning on red was allowed, did you come to a full and complete stop BEFORE you made the turn? If the right turn was allowed from more than one lane were you in the rightmost lane?
If you are not allowed to turn on red, it doesn't matter what you "think". If you didn't come to a full and complete stop then it is an illegal turn. Unless otherwise signed it is only legal to turn on red from the rightmost lane. Oh and all of these laws are the same in just about every place in the US, so you can't say you don't know about them. Because it is YOUR responsibilty as a driver to know the laws.
